Characters coming back from the dead? nah... that would never happen on EE!

I'd love to see David Wicks - plus Joe! Also a Stephen Beale return would be great - played by an actor who can actually act this time though please....

I'd like to see Carol and Bianca come back (but only if it was the original Carol, Lindsey Coulson). And Janine.

However I do think comebacks are a double edged sword (think: Den) so we can probably do without them - except Janine, who hasn't really been away for long, and potentially still has a lot to contribute.

Probably Joe wicks and his ginger sister Bianca, Dan Sulliven, Hattie Taviner (i'm being serious), Grant.

I hope Letita goes for good and KH puts Steve "i ate all the pies and all the other contents of the fridge too" Mcfadden on a diet.

Beyond that i'll need a few weeks to think about it properly.

Quite frankly i feel we shouldn't be looking at bringing back any old main characters, and should consentrate on creating some real genuine characters.

I personally would keep Patrick and Yolande though as I feel they're good background characters, who help to keep the show real, as well as a bit of comedy as well.

Now I know there's speculation about events around the 20th Birthday. that would be a very good way to move the soap on, so more than who would you like to see back, what would you like to see happen to the Square in the next 9 months?

I agree with you about comebacks generally but they can work if both the storyline and actors are good – Carol, Dot, Wilmot-Brown, Natalie, Frank…

But they can fall down when they’re not – Ricky, Sharon, Vicky, Den, Frank in Spain!

The only other thing Kathleen Hutchison is credited for is producing Series 3 and 4 of Playing The Feild - but these were not exactly great.

But i think this had more to do with the fact that Kay Mellor who wrote the first two series and created the programme was no longer writing the episodes.

I fully agree about Christopher Parker but I think you're being very unfair to Nigel Harman! He has clearly worked hard to improve his acting and has developed the "hard man" and the caring side of his character very well over the last few months. Do we really need any more really young characters. I don't think so. The ones we have are mainly boring and the acting of some of them leaves a lot to be desired e.g. Mickey, the Fareirra's, Juley etc.

Are you all nuts? PLEASE do not bring back the ugly fat slag Janine, one of the most repulsive characters in soap UUUGH. Restore Kat and Alfie to their former interesting characters. Kill off Zoe and Vicky, the ferreiras and Mickys family (who if they are supposed to be chavs are not chavvy enough). Keep Pat, Paul, Patrick and Yolande and give them more interesing storylines. Sharon and Miniden take over the Vic versus Sam and Rubbish Andy (tho' he's being killed off, shame as he was rather tasty apart from the HIDEOUS vest in the scene with Sam in her wedding dress).

LOL but seriously... I came into school this morning, and my friend Luka is like "I sorta watched EastEnders yesterday and then had a dream about Nigel..."

I was like "WHAT?! You don't even like him!"

In this twisted dream she was at a wedding, went into the changing rooms and Nigel/Dennis was there. She said "Hi Dennis!" and she hugged him, but he pushed her off him. She goes "Don't you want me?!" and he was like "Of course I do!" and then... it progressed... You KNOW the rest

Exactly! Nigel has improved SO MUCH since he joined the show! Whenever he is with June or LeslieG he really shines, IMHO... I really do think he has turned into a fairly good actor now, discluding amazing sexyness

Dennis's scenes with Dot in her cancer storyline really did make me like him more, I think he could be a good character if given some decent direction. I don't think Shannis however is doing him any favours, the sooner they end this storyline the better. Send Sharon off! spice her up a bit, stop her wearing black and bring her back with a new attitude and outlook on things, make her see what a huge mistake her and Dennis would be and let her finally put it behind her. Dennis on the other hand, well his scenes with Den are great and I would love see more interaction as Father and Son rather than the usual "Oh don't you love me" and more recently "Sort it auut Den" very limited interaction there and its not progressing anything between these two characters. Like we said in a different thread, the Watts family unit is so unstable right now, not a single solid bond between the lot of them. All that does is provide quick routes to dramatic scenes, but if they did share a bond, then when they fall out, it would be much more devestating and more interesting. Like, if Den and Dennis have a punch up in the Vic tomorrow night, nobody will care, viewers I mean, it will be like oh they're off again, what is it this time? Den feeling up Zoe again? And thats another thing, can we try and improve Den from this horny old letch that he's turned into recently? he's pathetic!

Juley, Gus, Spencer and most of the young actors on the show need to be culled. Den and Dennis need to stay because they're good characters and spice things up a bit. I could never stand Janine, so I hope they don't bring her back. And I could do without Peggy screeching all over the place again.

You know, I read somewhere that Chris Parker gets more fan mail than any other EE cast member since the show began. What's that all about?
