Just wanted to say an excellant start to the episode, especially the stuff with Victoria (little brat) and Diane.

I'm loving this! So funny, her and Val are brilliant and there's amusing one-liners in nearly every scene. I loved it when they all cracked up taking the vows, then it got very emotional which was quite moving. Superb humour and drama all-round tonight, they're getting it right on both levels.

Heh - I'm merely a casual Emmerdale viewer, but that made me wish I wasn't (a casual viewer). Great stuff.

Okay I KNOW I'm a bit biased, but that was bloody PERFECT. Probably one of the best episodes ever, no question!

So well done, hilarious and genuinely affecting. Anyone who switched over to EE was seriously missing out.

Fantastic episode tonight. All major players acted their socks off but particular mention to the magnificent Diane and Val. I loved Paul tonight too. Great mix of tears and laughter.

There were so many great little things on the side too, like Debbie's period remark in the church followed by Edna's look of disgust. Then Viv with her typical funny comments at the end.

I thought I was imaging that, definalty like something out of a western.

Been watching Emmerdale since the very very early days and this special tonight was the best ever, and for my money beats CS.

I've started watching Emmerdale again recently (when I remember to) and I'm so glad I have as this episode was fab.

It's one of the best 1 hour 'special' episodes in soap I can recall watching & by far the best soap wedding episode I've watched. Even better than Scott & Charlene in Neighbours (well I was young)...

It was a blink and you miss it moment. The pair look at each other, and this grey circle rips through the screen - onyl a few frames. Then the bell starts ringing.

But yeah, definiately good, bad and ugly influence there!

The one thing I liked was the wedding was not over publicised like soem other soap weddings, and I think that added to it in a way.

The scenes where they all cracked up during the vows etc were great and I did'nt expect that to happen.

Personally I think Emmerdale is the best soap on TV at the moment..... I simply can't bear to miss it these days lol. I felt really sorry for Andy having to sit outside the church like that. What really made me angry was Andy was banished from the wedding whilst Katie, who was the cause of all the Sugden troubles was welcomed at the wedding and everyone is acting like she did nothing wrong and forgot all about poor Andy. Debbie Dingle gets on my tits a bit too, she's such a know-it-all panmouth!!!

Was delighted to see Edna wearing that red hat again..... It reminded me of the episode where Len (I think) stuck a black tassel on it so she looked like Tommy Cooper and she went around the village not knowing why everyone was laughing LOL.

I agree it was wonderful (though i only saw first half as visitors arrived), so funny and what it had over very other soap was the realism. Realism in every single conversation. So many soaps fail to capture the way most people in conversation with each other, make each other laugh.

The whole thing with everyone being funny with Rodney and Paul once they knew was really funny and real - they could have made it a big dramatic secret but it was exactly the way people are when they know a juicy secret that doesn't directly involve them. Also loved the scene with Marlon and Alan and Bob and Viv wrapping up the wedding present.

God bless the writers of Emmerdale, that's all I have to say. Other soaps may be more dramatic or tense but Emmerdal has them all beat for pure entertainment.

It was pure Panto all we needed was the line " All the way to London and still no Dick"!!!!

Emmerdale reminds me of the old Crossroads full of has-beens and made on a shoe string.
And Now we have the Panto Dame!!!

I thought it was a lovely episode, I don't watch Emmerdale regularly, but made the effort last night - glad I did. The 'High Noon' bit was brilliant, very funny, and the whole thing had a lovely warm feel to it. Nicely done, a top class soap wedding.

I started watching Emmerdale in 2001 when I came to the UK to travel. I now live here permanently (married an Englishman much to my Australian father's dismay) I have become addicted to Coronation St, Eastenders (although not so much lately) and Emmerdale which is my absolute favourite. I loved last nights episode and Diane saying her wedding vows made me cry. I did catch the tumbleweed which I thought was great.

It's good to see more mature characters on screen with major story lines.

PS My parents love Eastenders although Australia is about 2 years behind. They think it's a documentary on life in London.

I couldn't stop laughing when Victoria got up in the church and said that Diane has a little bit of cancer in her bum. It was something that a child would typically say. I can't wait for when Val comes back, i hope she is not out for long, because her and Diane make a brill comedy duo.

I was waiting for Victoria to add on the end "Oh by the way Rodney is Paul's dad." LOL

Victoria has come on a lot in the past few months. The Andy/Debbie business continues to be sordid and added nothing to the episode. I have no sympathy for Andy. He should have been locked up long ago.

My concern about the recent use of Victoria makes me worry she'll be due for a headswap soon - kids can only work so many days a year
