I bet you don't use all the features of your computer/whatever you're using to be on this forum right now. Or even when you're cooking you don't use the hob and grill and oven all at once. And I bet there are some TV channels you receive that you don't watch either.
I don’t think any of those things can be compared to unwanted features on a mobile phone. But let me address all your analogies one by one…

First, I use all the hardware in my computer. If I didn’t need it, I wouldn’t have bought it. There isn’t anything inside my computer I don’t want to be there. This is why I hate things like Apple Macs and laptops, which come ready-built with very high spec components and you have no say in what you’re getting so you could end up with hardware which you may not even need but are charged a premium for.

As for software features, no I don’t use every feature of the software I use, but it’s only software. Those extra features don’t use up much disc space or processor power. If they did, that would be bloatware and I avoid bloatware like the plague. (I do use Windows, which is heavily bloated, but there is no alternative that can run all my favourite programs.) I also avoid having any unnecessary processes running on my PC.

I do use the hob, grill and oven. Maybe not all three at once but that’s irrelevant since I need them all individually and you can’t use one for the other.

Unwatched TV channels aren’t in any way detremental at all! You either watch them or you don’t. They don’t take up space on your hard drive or slow down the processor. Besides that, I delete any channels I would never watch. (Commercial channels, for instance.)

But when it comes to a mobile phone, that’s a completely different matter. A camera is a physical component that takes up space and adds to the weight. A large colour screen requires more power to run and drains the battery. These are real, tangible detrements to the product.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t object to, say, a built-in game or unnecessary ringtones. Because that’s purely software. (Providing it didn’t have anything on there that was obviously hogging memory!)

I think my minimalist approach to life is consistent and logical.

Wow, you really feel strongly about that.
I was thinking specifically of the camera, because that's what you referred to when you spoke to me about the w200i, and I was explaining that to me the camera is just like an unwatched TV channel - it doesn't take anything away from the phone, it's just there. Very light and unobtrusive. That was my point that it isn't detrimental in any way.
But I'm sure there is a phone with your exact specifications somewhere, it just might take you a little longer to find it
