There's sound but no vision coming through on E3 ( BG spacing ). Very faint so unfortunately can't make out the country.

Weak pictures on E 4 of the football. Does anybody know where this could be from? Sounds abit Arabic but hard to tell within the wall of noise.

I had fair (momentarily strong) pictures on R1 (1+1 Ukraine) and something from Italy on IA. There was RTL on R2 (is that Czech Republic?). Try as I might, there was no reception on E3 from Jordan or Syria. (I did receive JTV from Jordan, several times in 2010), but not since.

Impressive line up of countries Hybrid tellies. Today was my first ever band 1 tv Dx hence the personal excitement and continual posting. I got mine using a desktop discone placed magnetically on my balcony. Interestingly E4 turned out to be my strongest catch lasting about an hour on and off and yet I couldn't identify the country. Hopefully the the Es will get stronger as the season progresses .

"Sporadic E" Pictures & Video

I arrived home this evening to find Belarus 1 on channel R1 (49.75Mhz).

Here are some pictures and a short video of what I saw.

It's the first time I've seen proper SECAM colour on this TV.

Sadly, all reception has gone from here too. I don't have anything on E3.

Band II FM picked up for a short while with Spain at the bottom of the band and something Arabic (possibly Morocco or Algeria on 87.6Mhz).

Let's see what tomorrow brings!

I think there's only a handful of us who are interested in DXTV these days.

DX on FM radio seems to be what most people are interested in now, judging by the few responses to this thread, compared to the Atmospherics (radio) thread .

Yes Chris that's exactly what I was thinking. I don't understand why though. Fm dxing is enjoyable but really doesn't compare to tv Dx in my opinion. Last year quite a few people were contributing here espeacially during lifts but now this thread is like a ghost town. Maybe people arent into sporadic e and the thread will come to life during a good lift. Let's hope.

One of the reasons is probably that there has been some DSOs in the meantime, so less opportunities to catch something ...

All is not lost completly on Band 1 yet so make the most of it because in a couple of years time there won't be anything left to see.

Also who uses UHF dtt 21? I was getting signals on that but not so strong as to pull in the mux.

It could well be the Netherlands (as I think you are based in the Norwich area), they have the following:

Channel 21
Netherland 1
Netherland 2
Netherland 3
TV Rijnmond

However, to resolve this, unless the signal comes in very strongly, your aerial will have to be vertically polarised instead of horizontal.

Thanks Jon. My aerial is horizontally polarised and I managed to get Belguim that morning which was a vertically polarised signal so I'm guessing the lift was quite strong. I hope it was a Dutch station on 21 although since posting I realised that either sandy or crystal palace uses 21 as well.

I'm getting weak dtt signals on UHF ch's 56/58 and 60 which I've never received before. Does anybody know where these come from. I know Belmont is ch 60 but I'm not sure about the other two. Is there any remote chance they could be from the continent.

Probably the new high power COM muxs from Sudbury, which were switched on last night.

60 to 80% on Sudbury muxs
45% on Dover

This is with an aerial just out side by my window.
