did you know, Paul McCartney nearly ended up being the only surviving Beatle?

Stuart Sutcliffe, John Lennon, and George Harrison are all deceased.

Not long after being dismissed from The Beatles, drummer Pete Best tired to commit suicide by gassing himself - but his brother arrived home in time to prevent Best from going through with taking his own life, and that was that.

Then, in 1978/79, Ringo Starr nearly died from intestinal complications - thankfully, he under-went a life-saving operation in Monte Carlo. And although he never again achieved commercial success with solo albums or singles, he found love with actress Barbara Bach, and is still rocking to this day!

Did any of you Beatle fans NOT know this, until now?

It's beggars belief Ringo's still alive to be honest, he had really bad intestinal problems as a child, so much so he had to take a consignment of Baked Beans to Rishikesh as he couldn't handle the food then he was a drunk of course in the 80s I believe.

There are some people who believe that Ringo is the only surviving Beatle:-

A very interesting read, but wasn't the rumour that Paul died in 1966 and was replaced by a "double" dismissed as a hoax decades ago? Although the fact that there are some people out there who still believe it to be true, doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Yes. Ringo is the only surviving original Beatle as Paul was replaced in 1966.

Ringo began drinking heavily in the mid-70s after divorcing his first wife (the late Maureen Cox) and the collapse of his solo career; then after marrying Barbara Bach, the two checked into a drying out clinic - and since 1989, Ringo has stayed sober!

Oh for heaven's sake, it was dismissed in the late '60s, around the time The Beatles officially disbanded!

Although the rumour, sparked by a mad college student, did produce a surge in record sales.

You mean Lennon came back from the dead, three years after his murder?

The Beatles are dying in order of coolness, Paul should be grateful for that

I'm certainly not disagreeing with you. Of course it's nonsense! What I was trying to say was that in an age where the Internet has exposed a global audience to all sorts of crackpot conspiracy theories and has given those theories an undeserved credence it doesn't surprise me that the Paul Is Dead rumour has been resurrected and that there are more than a few people out there who believe it to be true.

How do you explain the face and head profiling and comparisons which prove without an doubt that Paul post-1966 isn't the same one.
