Too Much Friggin' Ads!
Seanie(:

Its getting worse each year, to the point where I start watching it 60 minutes after, because they have gotten so bad, and I still caught up before Kitty

There is ads almost in between every act, its ridiculous!
I know it generates a lot of money, but its ruining my enjoyment. They should be reducing the ads to boost viewers but its getting worse each year! Anyone else agree?

You must be catching up on more than the ads. If you watch 20 behind you can catch up towards the end. 60 minutes, I don't think so.

I watch XF USA at the start of last night's UK version and enjoyed both before bed. Tonight I will watch last night's Xtra Factor and tonight's XF. Sorted.

Ads? Whut ads?

Look I agree with the OP. No doubt all the "ohh just delay the TV" brigade will come here. But im sorry sometimes its not practical to do that if you are going out or something else is on later. Greedy ITV and their 50 million ads piss me off no end.

Not just the adverts, but the show is full of filler. They spend ten minutes every week showing us last week's episode in catch-up form and then needlessly making the judges walk on to some ludicrously melodramatic classical backing track, like we're all supposed to be shocked or something. We know who the f***ing judges are!! Just get on with it!

Last night we were 25mins in and we'd only seen two acts.

a break after 1 act, then a break after 1 more act, then a break after 2 acts then a break after 1 act, then a break after 1 act etc etc, ive made a decision im going to start sky pls'ing it and watching it the next day or after its finished so i can a) finish watching strictly and b) ff'd all the ads.

Well they have to have breaks, to get the stage ready for the next act.

There is enough time during the VT's for that.

You can get through the show at some rate if you fast-forward all the Dermot bits, Vt's, phone numbers etc. Since the results were moved to the Sunday, there is just absolutely no reason to watch it live anymore imo.

I agree, I won't watch it live anymore

We're getting twenty minutes of ads per hour which is astonishing : one third of the programme.

Yup. Feel sorry for people who haven't got sky+ or something similar

Yes, axe the ads!

I have no idea how ITV will pay for anything if they do that, but DS has declared it so it must happen.

i am sure there were as many ad breaks last year. i remember there being too many ads breaks then. i do agree there are actually more ads within the breaks though.

ITV can only air 12 minutes of advertising per hour maximum so not sure where you've got 20 minutes from?

ITV's a business so it's pointless complaining - they make their money through advertising, and they're gonna pack in their ads during high ratings shows like X Factor. It's like attacking Tesco for making you pay for your shopping.

Personally I watch the performance show on delay and manage to skip through the ads. I watch the results live as it's not as annoying - they usually leave it about 20 minutes in the results show before the first ad break.
