Not sure if this is correct forum, sorry if not. I have ordered a dvd recorder from Techtonics.com, and have not received comfirmation. I now have not been able to get onto this website for the past week. Anyone know what is going on? I ordered with credit card, so I am covered but wondered if anyone else has had same problem? Is it just me that cannot access site, or is it down? Does anyone have any contact details for this company, preferably phone no. as e-mails bounce back. Thanks for any help.

That's what I thought! The funny thing is I have ordered from them before and had absolutely no problems, think I wil contact my credit card and make sure it is all cancelled and buy from elsewhere.

From oldie. Did a Web search for Techtronics and this came up as find match no 5. Hope it's of use.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, this website is no longer available. If you have purchased goods from this site, please go to the Techtronics web site for support and warranty issues.

Sure I read on the home cinema newsgroup that they had gone bust.

Not the news you want to hear I know, try a google search.

Further a snip of info from the home cinema newsgroup.....

' When I said "Techtronics" - she paused .. and said "Oh yes, I've heard of them..." and then got me the details. Officially techtronics went into receivership on the 13th Sept.

So for anyone else who might need the people at PKF... the woman I spoke to was called Anjali

Phone: 0116 250-4400

Pannell House
159 Charles Street
Leicester LE1 1LD'

Note PKF are the receivers, you may need this info for your CC Company.

I bought some stuff from Techtronics over 5 years ago, and even then they were well over priced. With all the competition around these days, i'm surprised they lasted this long

Thanks for the info people. Personally I never found them to be that overpriced - in fact when I purchased my 1st dvd player it was cheapest price on the net (before the chip was added for multi-region, being a sony there were no codes.) Guess I am covered money wise as I paid by credit card, so will check with them to make sure I am not billed (haven't been so far.) Will keep you updated if I hear anything else.

Order it from somewhere else, 'cos techtronics have gone the way of the Dodo. If no money has changed hands you have not entered into a sales contract with said vendor.
From what I've read on other forums about this firm after sales service was poor anyway so your hard earned is better off spent elsewhere IMO...
