Amelia Lily Oliver

You are just destroying your self, very self destructive behaviour. Kelly knows how to play this game. According to the press she invited you to be her guest star, such a sweet, sweet Kelly~ and now you are trashing her and XF?. Thats all what people see and you will be the villain of the story.

You are just giving Kelly ammunition that she made the right decision to strike you and strengthening her decision to favour Sophie Habibis day by day.

If the quotes are correct, and to be honest that's a big if, she's only 16, I'm sure I would have probably handled rejection just as badly. She'll wise up as she gets older. But she does need to shut up now.

She needs a decent publicist, stat. That's if she did in fact say what she did in the article; TellyMix is hardly the apex of credible journalism, after all.

I think she's right in that reality shows produce few 'credible' artists, but she seemed happy enough at the prospect of becoming a "manufactured X factor star" during the audition process, so whatever.

She IS immensely talented and she does deserve a break, but comments like these could only serve to burn bridges with other record companies that might be interested in her. All record companies mold their artists to a degree, even the specialist ones, and one thing they all agree on is that outspokenness isn't good (at least not until the artist in question has made it and the outspokenness is in favour of a trendy cause du jour).

yeah I thinkshe's just a little disappointed that she didn't make it too the public vote I'm not sure she completely understasbnds what she's saying as many people have said she's a teenager and sometimes when you'er that young you do say some stupid things sometimes things that you later regret. I'm sure sahe'll learn from the experience and move on

Any decent record label would have nothing to do with that show any ways lol

The thing is, she was more than happy to audition for X-Factor, and was quoted a few days ago as saying that if her career didn't take off by next year, she'd consider auditioning again. She can't have it both ways.

That's the worst thing she could say, she's only showing she's jealous that she never made it through into the top 12 :s

Plenty of people have "made it", not necessarily as a chart star, but many have gone on to have very successful careers in music none the less.

I guess it depends whether she is just in it for the fame or the music...

Isn't this just a case of self preservation? Who doesn't get defensive after a major blow to their confidence, she's only 17 FFS, she hasn't got the life skills yet to deal with all this.

An undiplomatic17 year old? who'd have thought it?

No she is angry because she was stitched up with a crap song choice and a ridiculous twist which led to her being kicked off while the shower of rubbish who performed last week got to stay If the public had voted her out that would be another thing altogether. It seems sad that we seem to have kept the worst British trait - afraid to complain for fear of seeming 'bitter' while we have lost our best trait - the British sense of fair play

She has a point if I am being honest, although it comes across as a sore loser. The show has given her exposure which she should be thankful for as without it no one would know who she is.

That is probably a fair point in Jonjo's case as he was extremely lucky to be put through at all but Amelia was certainly a lot better than most of the people left on the show and it is doubtful if the public would have rejected her so early on. And now she is tied down to all sorts of contracts and probably won't be able to auditon next year - or perhaps ever again. In the circumstances she might have preferred to be left at the Judge's house stage. She's only 16 and could have come back next year with a clean slate ...

But I am beginning to feel that the age on the show should be raised to 18, at least, I know I couldn't have handled this at Amelia's age and - what with the 40 sent home from Bootcamp and the disturbing stories in the press of how contestants are treated - I think parents should think seriously of letting their teenage kids audition at all ...

It's what you call adapting to the situation and making the most of it. Looking at it from a new perspective. It's true that she's better off without the X Factor. There is no harm in her saying that. X Factor is a good platform for getting noticed but it's really no guarantee of a music career and is possibly detrimental to the more quirky or niche acts, or those who wish to retain some artistic freedom.

However, the proof will be in the pudding. Or the music. But nothing will stop those looking for an angle to criticise her in exploiting this article.

I'd say there are more than Leona and Alexandra who have done well for themselves, yes the following people are not to everybodies tastes and wont pick up any grammys but they had decent success...

JLS and One Direction? Both are/will do well for a good few years yet.

Will Young is still around aswell. Remember Girls Aloud and Liberty X?

Amelia was the strongest singer in the girls category, I'm sure she'll do well in the future and get offers of recording contracts.

Zero chance. She will fade into obscurity by this time next year, if not soon before. Winners have a hard time staying relevant. Who remembers the people who got booted in week 1

I hope she auditions again, the producers put her through to the judges, only for Kelly to says, "Hey, aren't you that girl that said you didn't want to be a manufactured X-Factor star? Ok, you can leave now. Bye!"

Hey lots went in for it and had they known what they do now would Never not for a million.......I believer she does regret..No i would. Its a joke and a circus and if she hadnt entered she wouldnt have to put up with you lot slagging her off. That in itself would be enough reason!!!
