Were tonight's results really announced in 'no particular order' - The Risk/Janet top
MARTYM8

The Risk announced first, then Janet then Craig - the supposed top 3. Maybe all of them were announced in their voting percentages order - top to last! Not sure about Johnny in fourth - but who knows?

Any thoughts - we won't know until mid December of course if that's really the position

It did seem to follow the betting odds, but then had to go category by category, so basically had to announce a safe Over. The fact it was Johnny was a bit odd, but then again, it was hard to be sure just who the most popular Over would be.

Would they be that obvious with it though, or did they just think it was that obvious and therefore not worth messing about with?

Johnny is popular and will get to at least Top 7

I think they were trying to make it more exciting. If they announced Rhythmix, Johnny and Kitty first then the audience will know that Janet/Craig etc are hardly going to be bottom two and it'd be obvious Frankie and Nu Vibe would be.

I don't think he will... although I had Frankie down for finishing in the top 4...

I reckon if he isn't bottom 2 next week, he will the week after.

Yeah, this.
While it's not in the order of voting, it's in their own order to create suspense.

They've done this for years. They always reveal it in such a way that when it gets to the last few acts it's harder to predict which ones will actually be the bottom 2. Would've lacked tension if it was The Risk, Janet, Nu Vibe, Frankie left at the end.

I think those two probably were top, but they just revealed the two (or three, including Craig) most obvious INs first. The rest were probably shuffled a bit. I think Marcus was there for suspense, as he got muffled compliments last night, and feasibly could've been a shock B2. Hopefully that compels votes or something, I dunno.

But I was totally scared for Sophie though, because the camera kept panning to her in between nearly every result!

If they say "no particular order" then that's what it is, they are not allowed to lie outright about anything to do with the voting - that's just plain illegal and OFCOM would be right onto it.

I felt sorry for Marcus being left till last - that must be awful

I think they did it in the order of who got the most votes in each category but not necessarily in the voting order

I really thought Louis would take it to deadlock and Frankie would be out.

Frankie has a terrible voice. I thought Louis would have saved the risk or is he the judges chosen one?

Nu Vibe had so much more to give.

IDK, he said ''Remember it's in no particular order'' before Misha so I thought maybe she topped?

Your reading to much into it.

If I remember correctly a few years ago (I think it was Leonas year) there was a thread with people talking about the order and someone who worked for a televote co posted a link that explained why it's in no particular order.

Basically iirc they aren't allowed to reveal the order or contestants other than the bottom two/three because of betting syndicates using the info to manipulate the result.

I think it would mean they would have to be entirely random.

That doesn't mean no particular order cannot be the same as the actual order!

They were announced in no particular order, I think you can be certain of that. They usually announce those who are generally considered the safest first - even if in fact they are not - although occasionally they will lead on someone a lot of people think is going home so that we then get worried about our favourite. But it's definitely in no particular order.

No, he always clarifies that it's in no particular order around the halfway point - where Misha was announced.

yeah got a bit worried tooI knew it wouldn't have been my fasult had she gone though as I did vote for her as she's my favourite this year.

Glad she survived though

It did seem a bit obvious, but the only thing I did notice is that each category may have been called in order of votes:

The Risk, Rhythmix and NuVube were called in that order.
Janet, Misha and Sophie were called in that order
Craig, Marcus and Frankie were called in that order
Johnny, Sami and Kitty were called in that order.

It doesn't seem unlikely that the contestants polled that way against their category.

I noticed this too - which terrified me, because until there are only 3/4 contestants left waiting, they never seem to pan to the contestant who their about to declare safe!

Interesting theory....but I would hope that after that performance Kitty had topped the overs or atleast been 2nd.

I'm almost 100% sure that Janet will have topped the vote this week, by a cushion as well. Yes, The Risk are the favourites to win the competition, but that's only because they will probably pick up more floating voters than Janet as the competition goes on.

I think Janet is this year's Matt Cardle who was top of the voting percentages every week. She's defintely a contender.
