Poor Kristina - the first time she has gotten a good partner, and hes a prat!! I do like seeing how good SHE is, though, its the first chance shes had to shine and I'm happy for her from that point of view but shes seems scared to death to show any affection towards Jason - his missus must have warned him not to be flirty with her and hes taking it deadly seriously ”

Agree there is too too, much "Life is Grim, life is earnest". Learning to dance on SCD should be FUN. Kristina is clearly having a wonderful time. She just needs to to get Jason to relax a bit and let his hair down & not be so serious. So what if the quality of dancing goes down a bit, his popularity would probably go up to compensate.

It means he has a huge benefit when it comes to musicality and performing

I have loved Jason's dances so far but I don't want him to win.

He is almost a professional dancer.

Not quite professional. He's trying very hard, give it his best shot, but even he's saying it's getting depressing for him.

All the below is IMO...

The thing is, I think he's still got a bit of a way to go technically, so it's not like he has it sewn up. I mean, that tango last week, as a concept (nice one Kristina!) and as a performance, was genius... in particular I loved the difference in demeanour and facial expression between the tango bits and the disco bits...but if you look at his posture and hold during the tango bits, had it been a proper full on tango, I suspect Len would have had stuff to say. So it's not fair to say that Jason is cruising it, really.

Jason is not a professional dancer; he's a showman. That's what is carrying him through right now. He is working like a demon and takes the competition seriously so I'm sure his technical abilities are going to improve. Kristina must be loving having such a hard worker in the studio and a partner that she can really push and have a good chance of progressing further in the competiiton with. It's just too early to be expecting great things and the pressure of being top every week is something that I suspect will become a curse as the competition wears on.

Jason is used to working under pressure in the theatre.

I agree with you that Jason is training very hard, that clearly shows in the quality of his dance performances every week.
Jason is anything but depressed though, he looks as though he is enjoying every minute of the show.

So driven and so dull. I thought he was lovely in his hey day and was so shocked when he went off the rails I can't reconcile that wild phase with how WORTHY he is now. I find him dull but can't bring myself to dislike him

I'm warming up to him. Honestly can't be bothered feeling dislike of any of them -- they're all working really hard and there are no hiding places. Good on 'em. He was the last one I felt a reluctance with so I'm delighted it's starting to fade.

I think calling him a mummy's boy is a bit rich considering he never really had a mum growing up. I think people see him as a threat to their favourites and can't think of anything to do other than to rip his character apart. Personally I think he's adorable but he's much better when he's relaxed and not thinking to hard! You can't change who you are, and I wouldn't want him to.

I dont have a favourite so that theory doesnt stand up for me .I think Jason is a bore, he is far too intense for a light enertainment show and doesnt entertain me .Is that enough ? I am allowed not to enjoy him at all .

I agree, I think Jason is great and its about time Kristina had a good partner

I really hope he gets to the final and maybe even win!

Jason is growing on me. I think he is relaxing into it a bit and being less annoying.

Same here. I really liked him in I'm A Celeb, but in this, it is so hard to warm to him.

You're allowed along with others not to enjoy or like him. I can't understand however why people need to keep reminding everyone else of their dislike of him. I don't care for Robbie but I don't keep posting about it especially as I know others do like him. We get it, some think he's boring, some think he's smug, and some think he's big headed.

...and some, like me, think he's great. I think it's time we moved on and got over it now, it's becoming boring. Each to their own. I won't be starting threads about the couples I don't like, it takes the enjoyment out of it.

Wow, so now being driven is a flaw. What do the GBP want, a lazy lay-about who gets around on his good looks, good fortune or sympathy vote for his nan?

No wonder we're in a recession!

Is that not what DS is all about ? Moaning about those you dislike , whinging about the silly judges , loving your favourite , taking the piss out of the dresses ! Its what we do best and half the fun of watching

Actually I agree with you (not that he was the last one), but I can't really be bothered to feel dislike for any of them. Most of them seem ok, and produce something worth watching. The only one, I'm losing interest in at the moment is Audley. Only because Natalie seems quite down and we have seen him shouting at her a couple of times (not impressed with that and he seems a bit deluded). I still like his dancing well enough.

There's truth in this! But I do know where Millie is coming from too.

I don't feel strongly about Jason either way but all the hate for him makes me feel more in his corner than I would otherwise!

One thing that strikes me about him, after seeing him in Celeb too, is that he seems to struggle to play a certain "steady" role and likes to remind us a lot that he is a father. That's obviously very important to him though.

As a personality, I actually think there's a very interesting guy underneath - I like his relationship with his father and I see flashes of someone with a lot of depth. But he does not let us see enough of that and he does come across as dull.

As a dancer, I love him.

Completely irrelevant and superficial but his children are gorgeous! His daughter is a real beauty.

Jason is great, and as you say we all have our own favourites, its a shame there are so many moaners about taking the enjoyment out of the show.
