US website Vote For The Worst is backing...

After last year supporting Wagner, Vote For The Worst (best known for their campaigns to champion the "worst" contestants in American Idol) are supporting Johnny Robinson (they've already nicknamed him Gaysha), but they're also keeping a close eye on Kitty (and will switch to her if Johnny is eliminated)

It's interesting to see an American perspective on the British X Factor- American Idol never really has contestants this outrageously novelty so they get quite absorbed in the progress of our joke acts.

I'm sorry, but Kitty is by no means "the worst". Maybe they need to be pointed in the direction of Frankie.

Surprised they're not backing Frankie, even at his worse Johnny is better then Frankie

They always take the credit for an act going through, when they likely had little to do with it.
Grannies probably love Johnny.

Johnny is quite a dangerous joke act for the show actually, because of how likeable and also vulnerable he appears.

I'm sure he was meant to be chopped last week before whatsherface pulled out.

I'm sure they will get rid of him in the usual fashion, but it may prove a bit trickier than contestants like Jedward and even the great Lord Wagner who needed much jiggerypokery and a reinstated double-elimination to dispose of.

Plus he actually has quite a good singing voice. Strange, but good

Yeah he's much harder for the judges to criticise. If he plays up the joke act he's liked, and if he sings normally he's liked. He's just very likeable in general.

That's why I'm sure he wasn't meant to still be here. He'd have had his token act last week for ratings and then be sent packing in favour of the more conventional over the top joke act that would get more attention and controversy but would be easier to knock on the head.

Johnny's progress will be interesting, as well as how they try and dump him.

"Vote For The Worst" doesn't necessarily mean voting for the least talented contestant on the show. Their mission is to push someone through who the show really wouldn't want. So while Frankie may be the least talented contestant on the show, they would push Johnny because the producer's want him there for fun, but it would be a disaster to market an album for him.

It's different with XF UK than AI. With XF, we know who the joke act is from the get go. AI doesn't have them, so the VFTW selections are usually more vague.

They do have the best AI recaps on the internet, though...
