connections to a surround sound system
i am going to buy this sound system form argos http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...oductId=106819
i want ot connect it to my tv ps2 dvd player but what i want to know is how i connect it up to all these. Coaxial lead(included) for dvd optical for ps2(need to buy extra lead i think) dont know for tv it quite old will these connentions work??? ps2-were can i get the optical lead tv- can see any outputs on my tv just a head phone socket any help greatly appriciated!!!! |

You would need outputs from your tv otherwise you could not chanel the tv's sound through the system. You need an optical lead like this for the PS2 to the system, this is just an example, you can get them for as little as 2.99 on ebay but of course they are nowhere near as good. The coaxial cable will be fine from the DVD to the system. The real problem is your TV, as I said if you dont have at least analogue stereo outputs from the TV you cannot connect it. Do you have sky? if so you can connect the sky box to the system and route the sound from there.

i dont have any other outputs form the tv and i dont have sky but the v in question is in my bedroom and can be changed with the one in the living room it has 4 outputs!!! but the picture is nowere near as good*!!! |

Yeh you'll be wanting to get sound output from your tv so you can get pro logic surround from the normal tv...
there are a few options. if your tv has phono outputs then this is the one. alternatively you can break it out from one of your scart sockets. this is fairly straight forward but i'd need to know how you have it set up exactly. |
