My documents are somewhere in the iCloud, but where...?
Okay, my upgrades to iOS5 went smoothly enough. Yesterday, all my documents on Pages on my iPad appeared on my iPhone. This morning I opened up Pages on iPad and all my documents disappeared - before my very eyes! And they've disappeared from my iPhone. Presumably they're in the Cloud somewhere - but aren't showing up. So where are they? And how do I get them back?
Fortunately, I have all the important ones backed up, so they're not lost. But, still, I'd like to get a handle on this. |

Also on iPhone/iPad check Settings>Pages>Use iCloud>On If they are in iCloud, you can download them back to your computer if necessary and transfer back on to the device from the Apps tab in iTunes. After that ensure Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>iCloud Backup>On also click Manage Storage and ensure Pages etc is set to backup, and while you're at it make sure apps which use a lot of data and don't want backed up such as video players are set to off. |

Have you checked the iCloud website in the iWork section? Just point your computer's browser to https://www.icloud.com/#iWork

My iPad and iPhone are happily sharing info via iCloud, and my Mac is taking part in PhotoStream and iCal. But my only niggle now seems to be that Pages on my Mac doesn't seem to want to play ball with Pages on my iPad. If you could throw any light on that, I'd be even more grateful! |

Hi, thanks for that - very helpful and much appreciated. I'm afraid there's no sign of my documents, so it appears they've disappeared into the ether! But no matter as they were all backed up elsewhere, so nothing's actually been lost.

I'm hoping Apple release iWork 11/12 for the Mac soon. |

Thanks, gentlemen, for your help. My experience so far with iCloud has been something of a Curate's Egg, and part of me is tempted to revert back to the good old fashioned way. Then I see how effortless PhotoStream is and I'm not so sure!

Much of the iCloud is simply misuse of terminology.
Sync is its forte. Opera Mini is Cloud stuff as is Google APPS. Opera in fact correctly uses the term sync for its backups too. A standard iPad backup to a PC is still a must for most people. |

Not so much in the traditional sense. If you buy an app or media on one device, it's automatically pushed to all devices including your computer. Of course you still need to backup your computer, occasionally.
