Hopefully more to come later tonight but for now...
Fair City was a bit meh. The three lads departed; but how can afford to be setting off is another matter. A spin off of the three of them on their travels would be interesting though. A nice scene between Bela and Suzanne; he deserves some happiness with all he has endured. Has he forgotten about Rita though. Orla seems to have finally realised what dire straits she is in although what herself, Leo and Niamh were doing in the office on a sunday is anyones guess. Philip/Jo/Dermot/Ben; they make a great little family; Philip and Derbhla work well together. 5/10 |

I've been watching it for about 12 years now although did miss 2 of the last three with not being in the country. It should be shown in the UK as well.

Corrie was good tonight. Lots of storylines.
Felt so sorry for Carla. She is going through hell and you could see the last thing she wanted to do was to fire people. I felt for Sally but I thought was way to harsh to Carla. She crossed the line for me. She has every right to be upset, and I would udnerstand her being angry with Carla, but she failed to consider why Carla was doing this, that she was trying to be fair, that she didn't want to loose her factory, that she had just been raped almost other things. And then saying Carla made it up... and practically rubbing it in her face at the end. I lost my respect for her then. |

I liked the different approach to tonights double showing how one main storyline (the rape) can affect so many characters and in fact the rape has stemed from Carla's original crush on Peter back in 2010. Seeing Becky, Sally & Eileen's different reactions was great, but the scene of the episode was undoubtedly the one with Sally & Carla in the office and Sally Dynevor's acting was AMAZING, probably because half of what she said i.e. the cancer was true and she showed real emotion. It also rang true about it being the only thing she has in her life and it made sense as to why she flew off the handle at Kevin when he came into the house, because even that isn't hers. Sally is written for so well.
Not sure where this Beth character is going to fit in at Underworld considering people are being laid off atm? Nice to see mentions of Bill, as it did seem odd that he featured in 3 episodes, then completely disappeared again. Also I like the mentions of other stories like Tina's mention about Fiz's trial next week. It's touches like this that add a sense of realism and something Corrie does well. 7.5/10 |

Emmerdale suffered, as it so often does, from a complete failure to communicate the story values in its current vault in a way that will endear viewers to them. Cain's building vengeance-wreaking was all over the place, and although him hitting Zack was quite a shock, the rest of the events are being so badly handled that it's hard to know which particular peccadillo of Cain's is going to be the keystone that locks the rest of the storyline into place. Does anyone even care that much? Marlon and Laurel...... so ill-advised, this non-burgeoning non-affair that they're not having yet is unconvincing despite good performances from both actors. It's not bad writing in this case, but an unfortunate example of a twosome that just don't fit. Moira and Cain, eh? I don't buy it. Not just because she's got Stunner Barton at home, but because Cain is so obviously a mental patient that a common-sense woman like her would recognise even the smallest hint of this and head for the hills. Charity & Jai's wedding "woes" are being drawn out too much, I don't know if they're taking their time to demonstrate Charity & Nikhil's nascent hate and make it grow, but let's move on with this please and get the elder Sharmas in, make things a bit interesting. The only glimmer of hope tonight was Rachel and her sister?/friend?/whatever?, I like Rachel and her companion impressed me very quickly tonight as a woman trapped in a life she loathes and yet is determined to change it. It's a great pity that this lightness of touch and good writing was not extended to the character of Amy. 4 out of 10.
Coronation Street's first outing was triumphant and extremely watchable - great conversational scenes and zippy scripting. The factory scenes were excellent, all I can do is echo other forum members and say that the writing for Sally was spot on. She really came into her own this evening with a good performance ably supported by Carla. The Sophie/Sian/Amber storyline interests me too (unlike most of you on here!) I like all three of them and I think their portrayal of young love in confusion is adept and punchy. Highlight was Marcus's crazy trolley dashing in the supermarket loved it! Shame the second episode fell a bit flat. It lost the momentum that had been built up. Nice scenes with Tyrone & girlfriend (BITCH) and Eileen with her dubious fireman. 7 out of 10.Eastenders was patchy. Why do we sometimes get three or four brilliant scenes buried in some skanky mire every so often? Jean's little breakdown - marvellous. Syed & Christian's scenes both together and with other characters - great. Kat's attempt to demolish her paramour - enjoyed that too. But the rest of it was wandering and unsure of itself. I've seen Fatboy's misery over Whit too often recently and Tyler's attempt at reconciliation won't have made much difference despite his honesty. God knows what Ian & Mandy were up to, or why. I was surprised she didn't shine like she usually does. Really gone off Christian again so hideously selfish, and yet he must feel very alone with all this going on. That still doesn't justify making Syed choose between his daughter or him. What an a-hole. Still, perhaps we're supposed to not like Christian very much. It's certainly working if that's the case. 5 and a half out of 10.

#Moira & Laurel's characters are going to be totally ruined by the affairs, because I just can't see a way back for them. Literally everything Gavin Blyth achieved in the show has been totally RUINED. He built up the Bartons to be a fantastic family unit who stick together through anything and I just don't buy it that as soon as they have money problems, Moira would look elsewhere, especially after Holly's drug issues ![]() Another example is Carl whose character is going nowhere. He randomly said in one episode a few months ago he was going to own Emmerdale once again, but since then we've had pathetic feuds because TPTB can't think of anything else to do with him. |

Sounds like I won't be watching anytime soon then! I caught the end of Fridays ep waiting for Corrie and it did seem very random. They've built up this thing with Cain where he is against the world but it seems very random like you say

I'm sure this must have been asked and answered before, but why on this thread are some letters of the title in capitals? Does it spell out something glaringly obvious and im just being silly?
