I was just replying to this when we moved!!
Afternoon everyone!
Just thought i’d come on here to share a little moment I had this afternoon.
As a few of the old posters may remember I’m from Matts town of Halstead. I don’t know Matt personally and I’ve never met him , but over the past year I’ve realized that I know lots of people that do know Matt. No one has a bad word to say about him by the way.!
Anyway this afternoon I went into my local Sainsburys store in Halstead (its one of the smaller stores). Went up to the music to get my Letters CD only to find there were none left. It had sold out. I tottered off to do my daily shop, and was about to go to the till when I thought I’d just go back and double check the music again. Would you believe it another 2 Letters CDs had mysteriously appeared in what 2 minutes before had been an empty slot. I quickly grabbed one of them and headed to the till. I stood at the till waiting my turn, I glanced back to the albums and spotted a lady go up to the albums and pick the last one up, look at it and put it down again. The lady looked slightly familiar. She then came to stand right behind me in the queue. I was trying to remember where I knew her from, like you do. I turned round to get another look at her, just as she was looking over my shoulder to look at my CD. It was then it clicked. It was Matts mum. We both looked at each other. I didn’t say anything to her and she didn’t say anything back. It all felt a bit weird actually. I was thinking on my way home as a mother she must find it so hard listening to all the stories that are written about her son. I know I would.
By the way the album was No1 on the Sainsburys chart with NG in 2nd behind.
See ya later x
What a lovely story..she must be so proud of her boy...she and Matt's dad should be proud of themselves too for raising such a charming, not to mention supremely talented young man!
