ha ha, very much a 'specialists' edition then

They could do a whole series of 'special interest' ones - The Drunk Calendar; The Tanning Calendar; The Hugging Women Calendar; The Hugging Men Calendar......

That's very interesting that they're doing this now, given the type of publicity they used for RFYL which was focused on radio coverage and, I'm assuming, cheap (presumably free apart from transporting Matt and Will around). Which makes me wonder something. Remember the interview where Matt spoke about having been offered the keys to Joe's ex-flat and Matt said he turned it down because the contract showed it wasn't free at all but came out of the winner's £1mn 'prize'? To me that demonstrates that Matt and his family went through the 1-year contract with a fine toothcomb to see what came out of the money. Presumably poster ads cost a lot, tv ads cost a lot, and Matt had the say in what to spend money on and what not to. Which would explain the relative lack of promo perhaps - am I right in thinking more money's been spent on promoting the album?

I'd also guess that the promo, or relative lack of it, has at least partly been a conscious way of finding out what is Matt's core fan base.
And, maybe, now, if there's a tv ad already for the tour, they're spending more on the tour. Which raises another point - the tour dates fall outside the reach of the one-year contract with Syco so presumably it's Columbia stumping up for it? Not quite sure where I'm going with this, except that I think these are good signs for Matt's longevity with Columbia, and also for his personal financial viability.

Humbug, why don't you go through the fan e-mail links rather than LiveNation? Ticketmaster's working fine for me through that, but there's hardly any decent seats left in London (though we won't really know the true picture until tomorrow when the general sale starts).
