That is very interesting. For someone who is a bit off with the pixies at times, he does seem to have a good grip on stuff like this. What struck me is that Matt's tour will be at the same time as the XF tour - I'm assuming plenty of people will do both (not us lot though!) and it will be interesting how people compare the two. It's also a kind of symmetry (sad Maths teacher here) in that there seems to have been a cycle of busy Autumn, Spring tour, quiet Summer. Do we expect Matt to then go back in the studio and work on another album next summer? If so, I am really hoping they go for a summer single that will have a better chance of making number 1 like 1D and Cher did without albums coming out a week later. I know it isn't the be all and end all, but I just want him to have that. Or will he set off around the globe? I suppose someone will judge what his sales are in other countries and make a judgement about this.
Completely selfishly I'd rather he stayed here!!! Flight phobia, twitter sightings etc. Come here Matt - we'll look after ya! ![]() |

JaMak & Cardie love your posts..deep and meaningful stuff
I remember being quite angry that RFYL didn't have that much promo and didn't quite get why.... I had never taken much interest before following Matt. Cardie love the image of Matt 'being off with the pixies' .... that's a true musician for you eh?..I think you're right Matt has been around the business for years and he knows the score and I think he knows exactly what he wants..He also knows he has to walk before he can run..I loved the comment about having strings on tour with him when he can afford it!...It's going to be great to watch him get bigger and better and amass the following he truly deserves![]()

Theres a snippet about Matt in the paper today (Gordon Smart):-
MATT CARDLE is trying hard for Indie credibility - but he's also been getting inspiration elsewhere. Matt went to watch SIR CLIFF RICHARD in concert on Tuesday, claiming it was because one of his mates was dancing at the gig. Bet he can't get enough of Living Doll though ![]() I'm surprised we didn't get to hear about this. I wonder who was dancing? |

In regards to earlier comments.
- Yes I'd loved Sparks to have been on the album too [simply because it was better than Run... and people may not even know it exists - I know I didn't until, like, a week before the album came out]! Don't know whether Run... would've been as good free promotional single [disregarding who wrote it here] instead though. - I'd like a Matt calendar. Preferably all of him shirtless, or better... ![]() ![]()

I have tickets!
![]() Birmingham, circle row b - that'll do nicely Taking nearly 13 year old, so i think front of circle is better for him than halfway back in stalls. Symphony Hall accoustics are wonderful - very excited. ![]() ![]()

I noticed that people have said Rhyl is a bit out of the way and Matt has two dates there, I assume from this that those gigs are the next step from the Scottish gigs in that they are a safer place to get early hiccups, or nerves, dealt with.

oh me too Cardie. TBH, my hunch is that I don't think Matt wants an international career and all that goes with it. I think he wants a proper life too and would be happier with a lower-key but steady career that allows him to pay his way in the world as well as giving something back to his parents and family. I'll certainly be more than happy to continue supporting him in that.
![]() A long way ahead I can see him being a professional song writer away from the limelight. *hunches off* |

I agree, Rhyl isn't that big a seaside town, so should be intimate, although the Pavilion is a decent size (1031 seats) I'm hoping to get tickets for the first one..already got tickets for Liverpool right at the front, so will be interesting to see the difference

I'm *hunching* along with you. When he says things like how upset he was when Sarah was away in the summer, and the fact that he doesn't feel quite right in that Chelsea flat, I just think he wants to settle with friends and family and feel fulfilled with his music.
A long way ahead I can see him being a professional song writer away from the limelight. *hunches off* I think he enjoys singing too much to take a back seat while someone else sings his songs...I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to the US at some point..they are going to love him (especially 'acoustic Matt'), he already has a fan base there..although I'd much rather he stayed here, just my opinion and I don't know that much about all this tbh ![]() ...sorry if I'm rambling
