I've been out and had a look through a couple of magazines whilst in Sainsburys. New magazine has given Letters a very good review (4*) and the Heat one is not bad at all (3*)

I've been out today and had a look through some of the weekly 'celebrity' magazines to see if Matt is featured in any.

Star magazine has a lovely 2 page interview with him and the interviewers seem charmed by him ''....when we settled down for a chat, we didn't think it was possible but his cheeky smile and manner melted our hearts even more as he opened up about his love life, his music and all things X Factor''. He says the Inverness gig was an absolute disaster ''The management and label came and I couldn't shake my nerves. My heart was thumping and I hated being up there''.
He says he likes Misha and Janet from this year's X Factor and his girlfriend is alluded to (and named correctly). It's actually a very nice interview and well worth a read.

Later on in the magazine there's an album review which is also very positive. The reviewer says ''It's tough out there with too many ready to dismiss a legitimate record from a reality TV show star, but if anyone can do it, Matt can''

It's a bit cheeky sending them out with front cover missing and just hoping people put with it after they ordered a signed one.

Hi all! Hope you don't mind me popping in!

I'm a huge Aiden fan but always liked Matt (although I wasn't a 'superfan') and was pleased when he won so have been loosely following him to see how he's done post X Factor.

Thought I'd let you all know that I bought his album today mainly out of curiosity (and partly - ashamedly - as a finger up to the people giving him such a hard time; see bad criticism can be a good thing for artists ) and whilst I'm someone who has to give an album a few listens before I can decide whether I like it or not; I cannot deny that his album is FANTASTIC! There are so many songs that I instantly loved; which is a good sign of a successful song I believe! I absolutely love Starlight, Letters and Stars and Lovers so far. Amazing is also really catchy and Walk on Water is beautiful. Have been listening to it over and over whilst doing boring dissertation work and love it more and more each time I listen to it

I know Matt will get a lot of stick just because he's an X Factor contestant which is unfortunate but his album being number 2 (it seems) will hopefully give him the boost he needs after the single sales - which must have been quite disappointing for him despite it not actually being a bad position. It's more a reflection of the song (and therefore Gary Barlow's terrible writing skills ) as opposed to his popularity. I always love the more low key artists which don't necessarily reign the charts but rather focus on the music and consistency and I believe now Matt's going to be one of those artists. I mean how many post X factor contestant can say they put this much effort into their music in terms of lyric writing and also contribution with musical instruments. I think Matt should be really proud of himself

He's converted me into a fan now!

I know! At least put a booklet in without a signature. I'm not that bothered about it being signed, I just thought it would be a nice to thing to have, but I'm not having it with no cover at all.
At least there's the signing on Friday. Bit confused though cos you have to be there at 8:30am to get a wristband but the store doesn't open until 9

Lol that's what I said to my flatmate It's annoying though cos I ordered it as soon as they announced they had signed copies, surely they couldn't have all gone by then? And if so they should have stopped advertising. Yeah there's no booklet full stop.

What a lovely post So pleased that you have been converted since listening to Letters. I think that Matt will be more of an album seller rather than singles which will primarily be used to sell the album.

Good to hear that 3 of our ladies are in the queue together

Sorry to hear that Linsey and Pedsky are having problems with their albums. I'm still waiting for my album with X Factor songs on but at least I have my acoustic one

Sorted it. I know it's not important but I needed to know what was happening re charts.

Matt is number 1 in the pop chart and Noel is no one in the alternative chart. But overall Noel is leading in the album chart.

Therefore Matt currently is toppermost of the poppermost albums in the UK
