5 a day

Not having watched the prog for YEARS, I'm going to give it a go tomorrow night. Just to see for myself if all the bashing is deserved.

People did have the chance to see it, but more chose to watch Emmerdale and they might have recorded EE instead. I watch EE now and then to see if it's improving and it is better now than it was earlier in the year. I didn't see Tuesday's EE, so I can't say whether it was great or not, but the episodes haven't been as bad as they were.

Loopy Lisa is right in that is isn't as bad as it was in the spring, but then again, the show right now is 'about' much more interesting things. In the spring it was all about Kidneys & Blackmail, and not even the best writing in the world could have made them plots interesting for the time they were sustained. Now the writing still isn't shakespeare, but since the Disaster episode (even though people seem to shoot it down), and through Dot's cancer story, the writing has got better. And now that we've got the canvas which features Jane, Chrissie, the Millers, etc, the show is a lot more fresh. It would feel far less weighed down by the crap of early04, if they cut many of the worthless character, but still. There's alot more to like than there was six months ago.

Sadly it is only relatively better. in compasrrisson to the golden era the show is dreadful. Long boring scenes. Stupid characters (Minty, Billy, Sam, Andy, Ferreiras, Spencer all take a bow). Awful dialogue and badly developed plots.

Still it is better than in the Spring

I managed to watch all 28 minutes of it (although I did clock-watch quite a lot!)

Well, if there was any flair in the writing, any stand-out lines, anything to make an impression (rather than just time-padding waffle and cliché, eg. "No, you've got it all wrong, just give me a chance to explain"), then I'm afraid it passed me by.

And please, someone tell me, what is the use of the Spencer Moon actor?

I don't think I'll be repeating the experiment tomorrow, put it that way...

EE has more tools than the average mechanic

And BTW before Walford 1 and Loopy Lisa start. It has some realatively good actors too

It does have some good character's especially Chrissie, I just hope she gets some more decent storylines so she keep up the good work.

I think Jane is ace she is so much like Kathy.

I spent more time in the kitchen cooking dinner then watching Eastenders. It was 28 minutes of dragged out nonscene.

I'm so bored of the whole Minty/Andy/Sam/Billy storyline, just thinking about it sends me into a coma.
