After he's said all that he's going to be a bit embarassed if it turns out he has got the sack.

I can remember that happening with someone on EE I think it was Pete Beale!

God the nasty part of me wants it to be true!

Dalton, you work on the set of Corrie, are the rumours true?

The rumours aren't true (yet)!!!

We have signed Johnny for at least another 2 years but as Tony Wood is producer, he is in charge. We have some elating plots to come still.

I wouldn't think that he is leaving, at least Johnny himself doesn't think so.

I think he is one big head he seems to think corrie is all about him and if he has signed for two years thats the storyline to kill him is it not?.

And where did you get that impression from?

I love Mike and hope he is in it and if he does leave, he gets the send off her deserves,

I'm sorry. What's this all about? I seem to have missed something.

It is sometimes up to the actor themselves whether they leave or not, but in some circumstances it's up to Tony Wood and the writers what they do with characters.

I think Mike is a great character too who will be missed if he does go.

Some actors don't like typcasting after leaving the show, for example Bruno Langley, I can see that since he is a good character and has left he will get recognition for it.

I'm talking about the actor who plays him I met him at the soap awards and he believes corrie is all about him.

Johnny Briggs is not big headed. He is very intelligent.

He is simply an actor who enjoys talking about his time on the street.

look i cannot be bothered to argue I know how people on here hate it when someone says something bad about corrie or someone in it.

I don't think we should argue either.

We should respect each other and Johnny.

No-one is arguing, just asked why you thought that and you gave your answer, fair enough.

Can I ask what Shane Richie was like? Plus Spencer (never seen him being interviewed, want to know what all the fuss is about!).

You're absolutely right. Johnny Briggs IS a great guy, highly intelligent and, whenever one meets him, about as far removed from conceited as can be imagined.

And he has had a truly remarkable career.

He's treading on thin ice if he gives a TV interview saying "they'll never sack me after a million years service". Corrie's Lynne Perrie. EastEnders Peter Dean. Crossroads Noelle Gordon. All said the same thing.

And yet you never react whenever someone criticizes EE, do you? Oh, no...

As you wrote in your inimitable fashion on another thread - "pott (sic) kettle and black"

To be fair, Johnny's unlikely to turn up on set with a lip job that makes him look like he's done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, a la Lynne Perrie

He didn't say that chuff, he just said that the story in the Sun wasn't true. The Sun claimed JB himself had told another cast member yesterday that he'd been sacked. JB said that he had done no such thing, and that he had a contract till September 2006, and 'had been working since he was 12, and had never been sacked from a job in his life', which is a pretty good record.

The woman who does the showbiz exclusives on This Morning (Sharon someone?) said that her understanding was that there is the 'offer' of a story for Johnny Briggs that would develop over two years, and give him a way out in 2006, his thirtieth anniversary with the show.

She implied he would ask to do it, as he likes to spend more and more time in Florida, playing golf.
