I don't see how it could have been much different really, I can't see that he would hang around to see if they would all throw him a farewell party in the Rovers.
I think the exit was right , though I'd have preferred him to have left with Karl, but it was good and it wouldn't have been long, because as Juleannu said, people wouldn't be throwing him a leaving party would they?
The best exits are always the ones were the person goes with a bang Grant in Eastenders, Trevor in Brookside Clare Tate in Emmerdale. All those people who died as a result of a natural disaster in Home and Away.
Chris Tate in Emmerdale, Steve Owen in Eastenders. Richard and Maxine in Corrie. If they were going to leave the way clear for his comeback they could at least have had all the shouting and fighting in the rovers in front of everyone!! Worst ever exit: Mark Fowler, EE died off screen after years of service to the show, I wonder what he did to piss off the powers that be.

Surprising reaction!!!
For me the point is it is an open ended departure. He left on the spur of the moment without sorting things out with his mother, brother or Sarah, this means he has loads of unfinished business for when they coax Bruno Langley back.
In the meantime we have the fall out and hopefully loads of great acting from Sue Cleaver (soaps true Best Actress IHO).
PS I was afraid Sean would be in the background making comments last night, but to be honest I thought he was great. Very understated and warm.
I thought it was fabulous, it's great how they had a really explosive build up, and then a more low key actual exit....I quite liked the fact that he left on a bus, it was quite simple and understated, but absolutely heart rending to watch as he waved out of the window to Eileen and Sean, who sobbed on the cobbles behind
He did leave very suddenly but he was angry and upset and people do spur of the moment things when feeling like that.
The ending IMHO could only have been bettered if he had left with Karl Foster, last night, was an excellent conclusion to Todd on the street. Just glad that the creater Daran Little wrote it, anyone else wouldnt do it the justice it deserved, after all he's been there, and experince makes the best kind of stories.
i thought it was a fantastic exit, really gripping, the slap was very good (she deserved it). and the b*tard word was well placed. He did leave quickly though, would have liked it to been a bit longer. loved the scenes between dev and maya too.
Oh I love the exchange between Maya and Dev. Even though Dev's voice is starting to grate on me the only line that his voice has done justice is "Stark Raving Bonkers". Sums Maya up really

Yes, I'm sure Sue C won't let us down.
I thought Sean was very good too - surprisingly impressive, he's fitting in really well.

I liked the exit. Something had to make Todd go and Sarah sleeping with Jason was the last straw. It had been building up for a while especially with her getting the job in the shop. He was never ever going to get away from her and all the baggage they had between them. Karl's purpose in the programme was just to bring Todd out. I'd have hated it if he had come back for Todd and they had left together. Too Hans Christian Anderson for me and life just isn't like that. I don't think Todd actually loved Karl for Karl he showed him that he was really gay and if he was ever to be happy he would have to come out.
I thought it fitted well with the story line and the charcter - it was also believable, which is more than can be said for Kat's on Eastenders, even if it did have to be filmed hastily
I thought Todd's final episode was excellent. When I first heard the plot for Todd's exit I was quite disappointed (I wanted him to leave with Karl, but also though the Sarah/Jason/Todd ending sounded like a cop out by the writers).
Saying that though I think lasts nights episode was well written and the scenes between Eileen, Todd and Jason worked really well. I would have liked Todd to have been in his final episode for longer but I felt the speed that events took place was realistic.
The amount of interest that has been generated about Todd's exit has been interesting to see. I feel this is largely due to Bruno Langley's convincing portrayal of Todd. While people may have mixed feelings about the character he played, I would just like to credit him on the depth he brought to Todd's character. He helped Todd become a character people were interested in, and through this has raised certain issues which is great.
