Can anybody advise me if the are any Freesat recorders currently on the market that will allow me to watch recordings etc in another room with a direct feed, which I currently have with Sky + HD box.
Freesat Recorder to two tv's
1. RF modulator - connect to scart and can send pretty ropey picture to other room. You need to combine with a remote sender.
2. Wireless video sender - again connect to scart, many include remote control, even worse picture on this one.
3. Foxsat HDR + media player and network connection - the HDR can (with an unofficial firmware patch) send SD recordings over your network to a cheap media streamer. You can pick any recording via the media streamer, if you want to watch something on right now you need to pop to the main roomn and just get it to start recording the program you want to watch. HD recordings are encrypted generally and won't play remotely.
#3 has added benefit that someone in main room can watch a different program than the person in the secondary room, quality is incredible. The way to go right now !
I tried #1 and #2 - they stink, best avoided.

I have a relative who thinks RF modulating the STB around the house is amazing. Lets them use the same remote in every room (via magic eye).
For HD, I'd do the same, but with HDMI. It's possible, but more complicated. splitters, extenders etc.
No use for watching different things in different rooms, but perfect for maximum ease-of-use + same experience in all rooms.
For myself, I've used option 3 too - but it has its own issues (TVs not compatible with the hack, clunky interfaces on many devices, HD only possible in infuriating "non-Freesat" mode) - I agree that, overall this is better for SD if you want to watch different things.
You missed option 4: Slingbox, which gets all the STB content to even more devices, with a decent user interface. Effectively SD only - though you can stream to anywhere in the world, not just in your house.
