I wouldn't like them living next door, that's true. But I don't like them because they're (so far) very one-dimensional. I haven't seen anything that makes me sympathise with them or like them in any way. I find it hard to watch them because I know how they're going to react/behave in any situation. Part of this comes from getting to know them, of course, but so far it's just been BANG BANG BANG.
The stories have also been a bit contrived and not very realistic. If somebody stole my new bed I would get onto the police. There's no way I'd end up having to buy a another one, let alone negotiate with the shop for the thieves to have the original one at discount. And the thought that Rosie would believe Keith would dally with Poline Fowler, whose old enough to be his mom, is laughable. I realise the idea is to make us believe they're loveable rogues, but so far it ain't working. I don't even feel sorry for the teenager with a cushion up her jumper since she stole Lucy Beale's pocket money.
