I don't have any problems with him being on the show. Whilst he may have had experience in theatre and dance or whatever in previous years that may be some advantage, he wouldn't be the first former celebrity to have that.
I also think it's nice to see such a high-standard consistant celebrity take part.
However, I have to agree with petertard. If his hight standard remains consistant throughout the series, to the point where he's topping the leaderboard every week with nothing but praise for the judges, I wouldn't be surprised if it cost him in the end anyway.
Whether it's fair or not, it's true. We've seen many high standard celebrities over the years that have been praised to the heavens for how good they are, and they've lost out in the end.
Personally, I'd love to see some of the others really up their game and challenge him, since I think it wouldmake things a little more interesting, and probably work in Jason's favour.
However, if Jason remains head and shoulders above the rest every week for the rest of the series, I'd be very surprised to see him win. Look at how good Rachel Stevens, Ricky Whittle, Louisa Lytton, Matt Baker etc were. They were all capable of being amazing and, more often than not, consistant. Not to mention Pamela who was also great (though not always) and received loads of praise from the judges, but she lost out in the end too.
There's no denying Jason could run away with it, but we're quite fickle, us GBP and I'm not sure I can see us backing somebody so obviously good, especially since we love an Underdog.
I just hope some of the others can up their games and at least prove a little bit of a challenge, otherwise it may just get a tad boring.
