BBC Alba on IPlayer

Just found out today that a programme I fancied watching on Alba is not available on IPlayer to watch again, but can be viewed on IPlayer live as it happens.I thought programmes would either be available or not,but why should something be available on one platform once only and never again.
Does this apply across all other channels available via IPlayer?

It's because although it is "BBC" Alba, most of the programmes are made by other companies, and as such, the BBC do not hold the rights to them. Most of BBC Alba's programming appears once and is then repeated a few days later. Only BBC made stuff tends to crop up on BBC iPlayer - circa 10 hours per week.

BBC Alba is available to watch online live though. Infact, over 1.3m people watched BBC Alba programmes on iPlayer in the last year.
