And who got on really well?

I'm new to SCD board so I'm not really aware of the rumours around couples of past series but the chemistry or lack of it between Holly and Artem and Nancy and Anton has really got me thinking about what goes on behind the scenes and who really didn't get on with who in the past.

I don't think Brendan and Fiona Phillips were best mates

I remember James Jordan in his first series being perfectly foul to his partner but there must have been a reason they didn't click?

Am intrigued by what goes on behind the gloss, sequins and fake tan.

Brendan and Sarah Manners was up and down - mainly down.

Good question. I'm new to the forum too and the prog, and am constantly surprised / pleased / piqued by the amount of animosity here stirred up by the bare mention of certain names from the past. eg Pammie. I thought she was just Billy C's wife but it turns out she's this dripping harridan.

Would love to hear more about what's wrong with everyone, and what is famously lovable too. Just for balance.

I remember Brendan and Claire King not getting on. Very awkward exit interview after she had gone to the papers from what I remember.

I remember their Rumba being virtually soft porn.

Oh yes, will never forget "the bum watcher." Felt so uncomfortable watching their leaving dance.

I remember Karen and Gary Rhodes having a big training room bust up.

I think it was the Dr. Pam segment and the forum response, especially with one poster saying that they no longer spoke that got me thinking.

To my innocent eye I thought they were great friends but obviously more seasoned users of the forum have an insight that I've missed. I know it can't be all sweetness with that many egos behind the scenes but tell me what I don't know.

His ego was out of control. Until that series I'd always liked him but the way he spoke to Karen and tried to tell her what to do made me see him in a whole new light.

Dreadful man.

I think Jaye Jacobs and her partner (whose name escapes me) during the SCD2005 final when they did a segment of their Rumba. After it was over Jaye gave her partner a look that would have stopped a charging rhino in its tracks, spun around on her heels and walked away at speed

From what I remember he wasn't putting the hours in either.

Your thread has got names popping out of my memory, can I also add Craig Kelly and Flavia, that lady was a saint to deal with him.

Though sometimes I wonder if it's not them (the celebs and dancers themselves) so much as established attitudes between posters that informs the strong opinions. Not wholly, but maybe some of the verve comes from that... Dunno. Not in her case, mind, reading what she said in the Guardian was an awful unsavoury experience.

How about rivalries between the pros? Are there any major dislikes there?

He was sooooo creepy especially when he 'moved' his hips. How he ever got as far as Blackpool I'll never know.

David Dickinson spent most of his time argueing with Camilla

I thought it was Karen who was scathing towards Gary. Just the way she looked at him and never had a good word to say about him.

After her winning with Mark Ramprakash she probably thought Gary was a let down.

That man's ego!!!!

During the coming out segment of IACGMOH, he talked about himself in the third person.

That's exactly my interest. I assumed he was awful because I thought he was rude but I can well believe Karen being impatient at someone not being as natural or as hardworking as her winning partner.

I always thought that these 2 got on and Falvia took him as far as he good but didn't think she had any issues with him.

I also thought it was quite endearing that his dream was to dance in Blackpool and he got to fulfill this before he left

He kept asking if he had any offers from television companies-so up himself-can't bear the man.
