only to make non constructive debate, such as "follower of fashion" comments. Remind you of anyone?
I possibly took the bait for another hate hate. But I certainly make no apologies for inferring that Apple maximise profits way beyond other manufacturers tricks. As logical as the earth is round. |

You'll just have to get used to it, I'm afraid. The people you refer to are small in number but vociferous. It seems that any threads portraying Apple in a remotely positive light are so offensive to them that they absolutely must make snide comments about the products and the people who own them. Almost every pro-Apple thread attracts such comments very early on. It's quite telling that threads discussing Android products rarely attract any such comments.
I really don't understand why people with such a negative agenda against a manufacturer still feel the need to read threads on the topic of that manufacturer. If I hated a company with the passion that certain people on this forum seem to hate apple I'd be doing everything I could to avoid it |

Its to do with a few numpty's who start threads like 'Apple have done it again'. Done what again? Bring out a phone which has the same look as the last but updated inside to the same specs as phones that have been out for months yet is much dearer? Its clearly a baiting thread and some fell for it. Sadly threads like these on here are very common among mac/iphone users who think everyone's an arse that doesn't want or like mac/iphones. Thankfully we got rid of most of the offenders but it still crops up now and then. That's where i guess the comments from other platform users come in. |

That means tech from all manufacturers including apple. I don't think anyone hates apple but i do think a lot of people like me see them as a mediocre company who make standard products at a huge price and the users think they are better than the competition. |

It is fascinating that with the combined man years, experience and expertise on this forum probably spanning several centuries, people are reduced to playground-esque behaviour whenever Apple is mentioned. Mind you this thread was only ever going to take one direction. It was clear from the start.

Thank you, Stiggles, for so elegantly proving my point.

Trust me there are some users on here who quite obviously do. I could name names but there really is little point because as I mentioned in the previous sentence it is obvious who they are
The above statement is absolutely correct, however there is also a small group on the other side of the fence too, who will defend all Apple products with a religous fervour that can be quite disturbing, no matter how valid the comment/criticism. Also not naming names, as we all know who they are too... Also, another comment earlier mentioned something along the lines of what are non-Apple fans doing reading Apple threads - I'd simply say that while I'll probably never buy an iThing, I'm still interested in them as devices from a purely geeky point of view. Just because I don't have any Apple products doesn't mean I can't be interested in keeping up to date with what's happening. |

I've stayed out of this (as I tend to with most Apple threads - even though if you sort the wheat from the chaff they can be interesting) but one observation I would make.

Course the difference between you and them is you're actually making a fairly sensible constructive post in the thread. There is nothing wrong with non-Apple users coming into threads as long as they have something constructive to add. A lot of posters don't though and it's at that stage a thread usually degenerates into a willy waving contest before the mods have to come in and clean up the messIf people actually read the forum rules before they posted a lot of the agro would potentially be avoided too |

![]() I can only speak for myself and from my own experience, but to me the problem is clearly the extreme ends of the spectrum, people whose devotion to their chosen brand/product not only blinds them to any imperfection in their own chosen one, but also sends them into full attack mode on the competition. And this has turned into a much more interesting discussion than whether something breaks when you drop it

The whole apple V android threads are quiet now that Vallhund has gone; he was 100% totally pro Apple and would not have a bad word said and ignored anything that did not suit his agenda...but his posts were entertaining. He did come come back under an alias but he could not keep quiet and his posts were so obvious that he was sent on extended holiday after only a few days. I never thought I'd say it but I almost miss him; the forum was never dull when he was here.

My problem is that Apple users are treated like idiots and are scoffed at, they are downgraded to "followers of fashion" or not tech savvy just because they like a device that may not be as high in specifications.
Those daft headlines certainly seemed to follow that superlative example, when in fact there was already a proper Siri discussion topic. Lighten up. |
