I guess that's a fine example of how much of a disregard some channel's management now have for viewers these days. Simply a case of "Just stick it on. They won't know the difference"

Probably stemming from the self inflicted probelm of having to show repeats ad infinitum. I've got no issues with repeat showings, its good for new viewers or those who want to rewatch it, but it would be better of it was not on every day, but rather shown in a proper once (or twice) a week run.

(mini rant over )

As much as I love it, that's utterly obscene !
Saw an interview with Johnny Galecki earlier, he said he felt his salary should be private and wasn't something you discussed on the web (as he put it you wouldn't ask your dentist what his salary was). He also said that the majority of leaked figures were wrong, so I wouldn't take that figure as a given.

Asuming those figures are correct it's only £191 351 per episode, not as much as it sounds...

TBH though, it's an industry that makes a lot of money so if the percentage that the actors are entitled to equals a huge amount of money then good for them.

Like on Friends, the main cast earned $1 million per ep by the end. It wasn't a case of deciding to give them all that money but that the show had become so big and was raking in the cash which meant huge paycheques for everyone.

I thought one of the reasons Friends ended was because it the main cast were paid so much and NBC couldn't afford to keep increasing their salaries. (in America the amount of pay stars receive increases with every episode produced)

I used to freeze-frame the vanity cards at the end of every episode and read them all but I got bored eventually and don't bother any more.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but friends ended because the cast wanted it to end. As I recall it was a short season because Jennifer aniston wanted it to wrap early so she could concentrate on her movies.

I think there were multiple reasons why it ended, so I'd imagine we're both partially correct

Yes, the cast were entitled to salary increases every year. As with most shows that are very successful, the people that work on them get bonuses. But it wasn't that 1 million had to be scraped together to fund them, it was what their percentages were worth by season 10.

For Big Bang Theory fans in the US, we are running a competition via twitter for The Big Bang Theory season 4 box set.

I'm pitching an idea to Comedy Central "E4 Comedy Cat Scheduler" but I need to know, does she need a gay best friend, an Asian best friend or a scratching post? I favour a gay, Asian best friend, but that doesn't sell many scratching posts.

With respect, if they are living in the USA they are hardly likely to be reading this UK thread!

Am I alone in think season 5 was a massive unwatchable disappointment towards the end? Everyone else seems to love it, but it just seemed crap to me

I think the last 3rd of the series was not up to par... to much like friends. BUT I loved the last episode.. how ever smushy it was.

Now... when is the UK airing of season 6 here? Anybody know please ?
