Its really weird, when they first came in i wasnt sure about Amy as a character, but really liked Bernadette.

However, recently that has completely changed. Bernadette as a character just doesnt make me laugh, and seems to really seem out of place now. However, they have really developed Amy, especially her relationship with Sheldon in a way that her character really adds to the show.

I admit I didn't love it too much this week. I thought it was saved by Penny and Sheldon, but Howard and Bernadette were trying my patience (but I've never been much of a Howard fan).

Sheldon in the barber's chair (".... no.") was a classic though.

Really enjoyed the Sheldon and Penny bits, but Benardette is driving me crazy

I have only recently found this brilliant show, thanks to my daughter. I could quite happily watch every single episode back-to-back with a mug of tea and a bag of galaxy counters and be as happy as a pig in muck.

Big Fan of Howard...and his Skype chats with Bernadette were hilarious... 'I ate a butterfly'.

'There's not a hair on this body I wouldn't let this woman trim.'

And Leonard finds out Sheldon has seen Penny naked.... was that when she fell in the Shower.

Anyone else notice how clear the picture is when they do scenes from a camcorder - I wish they filmed whole episodes like this.

I had noticed the picture on E4 is dark and grainy compared to other series and the American HD original. I can't think of any good reason for it though?

Yeah, when he grabbed her boob instead of her arm.

I loved that episode (aired on E4), I never was a fan of Howard but everything he said had me cracking up.
I also loved..

- The beginning. Barbers small talk
- Sheldon's comparison to Justin Bieber
- Penny beating Leonard in chess
- Sheldon playing the bongos
- Amy's lines towards Penny
- The end

I'm a sucker for anything between Sheldon and Penny (which is why I loved S2 and S3) as there were a lot of interactions between them. S5 have sadly had minimal amounts.

For example, the dislocated shoulder and Sheldon teaching "a little" Physics.

I'm surprised no-one's bumped this thread up, tonight's new episode was brilliant, if not better than last weeks. I even downloaded the 'whip noise app' afterwards.

Cooper Coupons, pmsl.

Amen to that! I really enjoyed it, from start to finish, and every time someone did the whip was hilarious, I must admit I clapped like a seal a couple a times. Grade A stuff. One thing though, Bernadette's role in this episode was a bit rubbish, but I suppose with the amount of characters and the time per episode, they cant make the most of everyone every week.

Loved this weeks episode. I thought Sheldon had a nice bit of character development agonising over his dilema with Amy. Old Sheldon would have just said no and played Star Wars all weekend, and instead we got the fabulous, (although possibly misquoted), 'It's got light sabres, Amy PLEEEASE!' Although he inevitably let her down in the end.

I've never had a problem with Bernadette before, but they do seem to be turning her into a sterotypical high maintenence girlfriend. She annoyed me in this one I must say.

Also, Amy's pretty much glaring obvious attraction to Penny is getting a little out of hand now, even if it is just being played for laughs. At first I thought it was just an obsession because Penny is the first best friend she's ever had, but a lot of the things that seem to excite Amy the most are pretty intimate activities. I guess that Sheldon wouldn't be bothered by this even if he did manage to notice it, and it has been shown in the past that Amy, unlike Sheldon, does have sexual desires.

Also Raj. 'Even if I do finally get a girl, I'll still be the guy who only managed to get one after SHELDON COOPER!'

That was hilarious! And Mrs. Wolowitz climbing these 'focaccia stairs'. So many great lines.

Big Bang at its finest.

Fantastic stuff last night.

Hope Bernadette is ditched soon though, really don't find her funny at all.

So.....the E4 daily repeats have gone right back to ep 1, series 1. (Again!)

Whenever I see this episode the opening scene really jars. I can quite see how Sheldon would impersonally consider sperm donation a practical solution to a funding shortage, but it just seems so wrong, in view of his later developement, for Leonard to call him ".........practically a pro!"

Other aspects of the episode, though, are an enduring delight. The tongue tied nervousness of Leonard and his inability to look this gorgeous girl in the eye. The suspicion on Sheldons face that things in his life may be about to change. In the context of the nerdishness of the four guys, Raj's selective mutism doesn't seem at all unlikely.

It's interesting to see the ways in which the characters have developed and matured, and also to see how so much about them has not changed at all.

There are reminders, too, that Kaley Cuoco is a much better actress than the later series have allowed her to demonstrate.

I think it's a good thing as it gives newcomers a chance to catch up on the series.

Did anyone notice Penny saying she was from Omaha and not Nebraska?

Omaha is a city in the state of Nebraska.

More to the point, she said that the character in her screenplay came from Lincoln, Nebraska. When asked if it was autobiographical, she said that it was not because she herself came from Omaha.

Thanks for explaining that

I've always thought Omaha was a state!

Megyn Price's character in Rules of Engagement is also from Nebraska. I've noticed the two CBS comedies share a number of plot ideas, guest actors and punchlines.

And E4 may be keen to satisfy new viewers - I've just read on DS that since the 100th episode TBBT rating have increased significantly.

Still frustrating for the rest of us.

And probably writers, as well.

As for the State thing, I guess it's confusing for us foreigners, what with Idaho, and Ohio, and Iowa, and maybe others.

Mind you," Omaha, Nebraska" has always stuck in my head as a sort of phrase. In fact, I'd always assumed that it was the capital of Nebraska, but no. That's Lincoln.

Wasn't that interesting? I'll go away, now.

I really enjoyed Thursday's episode, I felt like Raj was talking for me when he said he wanted a weekend with just the guys doing what they used to do. Also did anyone else hear the E4 announcer advertise more BBT after that episode? He said something like "No! To those certain people, it's not a new episode. You know who you are..." ? Maybe he posts in this topic...

For me, it's not that I don't like Bernadette, it's that she makes Howard less funny and a little bit dull. Her character would be fine, but in a completely different show.

To the people who find Bernadette annoying, she doesn't do herself any favours in the episode shown in the U.S two weeks ago. But with Howard....

All I can hope for is for her to fall out with Howard's mum and have her interupt the wedding and reveal some dirty secret about her that puts him off. Plus we would get to see her finally!
