Whenever I turn my 9200t on, it does the normal start up and then the picture and sound come on for a couple of seconds then the picture freezes, then the sound stops a few seconds later. If I press the "Guide" button on the remote as it is starting, I can get into the TV guide but also freezes instantly.

It does not seem to matter whatever button I press the whole box freezes after start up. I have tried switching the machine off for a few minutes up to one week, but to no avail.

Any suggestions please.

Switch OFF and disconnect from the mains.
Disconnect the aerial lead.
Reconnect the mains and switch ON.
If you can now get into the menu do a Default Setting.
Switch OFF and disconnect from the mains.
Reconnect the aerial lead.
Reconnect the mains and switch ON.
Go into the menu and do another Default Setting.
Hopefully your 9200 will now be working but if you end up with channels in the 800 range you will need to do a Manual Search for channels afterwards, post back for instructions.

Freezing just after switch-on is a known problem so the above should cure it. Note that disconnecting from the mains before unplugging/plugging the aerial is to comply with Humax's warning sticker on the case.

Haven't been on here for a years I think, having been a regular for some time.
Developed identical symptoms this evening, logged on, search 'Freez' and job done.
I think I've used this procedure before, but long since forgotten it.
Two other things not mentioned above ...
This will remove all of your scheduled recordings, so you need to reset those.
It will also default to a 4:3 ratio, so you need to reset to 16:9 in settings otherwise your pic will look distorted.

These things get reset as part of the Default Setting, nothing to do with the whole procedure above.

Once again this forum sorts out a problem for me. How DID the world function before the internet?

One tip; my machine was doing the freezing thing consistently after about 15 seconds of picture following turn-on - I plead guilty to having ignored the antenna/mains sequence warning - but as I think others have found, the machine would still work fine as a freeview box if I disconnected the hard disk's power cable.

Still, I assumed I would have to do the default reset routine with the hard disk running as usual, which meant it would be a race against the clock to go through the menu, passcode entry and hit default before the machine froze at 15 seconds. And when I did manage to initiate the reset in time, it was clear that the machine froze before the reset routine had done its thing, so it looked like an unsortable situation.

Except that it turns out that fortunately, the hard disc DOESN'T need to be running for the default reset routine to run! Unplugged the power cable, did the aerial unplug/replug and the default reset routine without having to rush, re-connected the hard disk power and we're back in business.
