Certain obsessive threads in the TV section really annoy me. I'm not talking about the Cult section (which I never visit) but posts in the TV programmes forum.

There are certain threads about TV programmes which are heavy with fan fiction/ obsessive detail/ hero worship/psychology of characters posts. So much so that people who want to make a general comment or that they didn't like certain aspects of the show/continuity/ acting etc are put off posting.

I'm just not an obsessive person over TV programmes and so like to comment on what I see, not read through fans' imaginary scripts of what should happen, in-depth analysis of fictional characters' motives etc. That's what (I imagine) goes on in Cult which is why I don't visit it.

People in charge of other people's money (such as travel expenses reimbursements) who don't do their job properly should be sacked on the spot.

Not everyone who has a motobility car deserves one MOST do but not all some without doubt are defrauding the government.

Not everyone who is unemployed wants to be, we dont all wish to be sat home all day with only Jeremy Kyle for company and the cat.

Parents are responsible for their children "but hes a good kid" isn't going to cut it when they're going down for murder, teach them to respect others before its to late. The goverment, the courts the police and the teachers aren't the parent, YOU are step up to the plate.

Youre a vegatarian? good for you, it dosen't however make you superior to me.
I agree with you-every word!

Nothing says "I'm a complete and utter chav" quite as loud as using a 3 month scan picture of your unborn child as your Facebook profile picture.

Not exactly an up to date and topical viewpoint, but...

A blind, three-legged donkey could have won the last American presidential election in place of Obama. The only reason he won is because he wasn't George Bush and wasn't the Republican party candidate. And the vast majority of (British) people who were hoping and praying Obama woud win, couldn't have even named a single one of his policies.

I don't understand why some people bear such mouth-frothing, swivel-eyed hatred for Ricky Gervais. (Evidence: any thread on DS containing the name 'Ricky Gervais').

Totally agree.

I think it's mainly jealousy of his success that causes it.

Drives me crazy when someone ^^^ says a celebrity gets criticised out of 'jealousy'.

A significant majority (not 'all') of mobile device (don't think you can call them simply 'phones' anymore) users are Stepfordian zombies.

'Hating on/haters' and all their variants is moron language.

This is the 'unpopular' opinions thread as opposed to the 'correct' one

The general British public are too stupid and ill-informed to give a reasoned response to a referendum on whether or not to remain in the EU.

People who use the change of seasons to bitch, moan and whine twice a year about about the clocks going backwards and forwards by an hour are deeply, deeply tedious arses who really need to find some genuine sort of grievance in life to complain about. Changing the hands on a clock or watch isn't difficult and it serves a purpose. It has been happening in this country for the best part of a century, the alternative has been tried and was judged to be a mistake so it's here to stay. Get the hell over it.

Most people are arseholes, and aren't worth investing any time in.

- American television is shite.

- I find Atheism sexy, and have been put off potential partners because of their faith.

- I find snobs from Australia, America, New Zealand and such appalling. Not because I disagree with snobbery, but because I think they're crap snobs because they're colonial countries and have no right to be snobbish (unlike Europe).

- I think the UK is becoming too Americanised.

- I think anyone who thinks abortion is "murder" is a ****ing moron.

- I support the Monarchy because they're one of the few English traditions we've managed to hang on to.

- I love Morrissey's music, but I hate Morrissey's soap box. Similarly, I love U2, but Bono gets right on my tits.

- I hate hearing fat people moan about their weight. They should do something about it.

- I think smokers are bullied, and everyone should be allowed to smoke if they chose. The anti-smoking brigade are the most self-righteous group of idiots. (Obviously, I think you shouldn't smoke around the elderly and kids - but everyone else can put it with it.).

- I also think people who complain about the "health effects" of passive smoking but drive cars are the worst. What do you think would do more damage? Sucking a cigarette, or sucking on the end of an exhaust pipe?

I don't believe (you)

Concerning the topic of Scottish independence, I feel some English people are envious/jealous that actual change will happen in Scotland (tax laws, escaping from London-centric politics, and so on) while English folk will carry on voting Tory and Labour and bugger all will change.

- I find that "feisty" women are usually just obnoxious and/or bitchy, or at the very least cocky. If someone describes themselves as feisty, I tend to take that as a warning. I'm female, but just don't get along with in-your-face types at all and have no idea what is supposed to be good about being like that.

- I think the majority of chart music is total crap.

- I think Princess Diana was extremely overrated (though her charity work was admirable) and not really very beautiful at all.

- I think social networking sites and mobile phones have made it easier for people to be arseholes to each other, and cause more paranoia than pleasure.

Not heroes to me : I don't think any soldier from any country who fires a gun or drops a bomb on another human being (because his leader/government told him to) is a hero as is comonly portrayed in the press, it disgusts me how society tries to get us to think of them as heroes and i cant think of anything more evil and insane than trying to kill someone you havent met yet with a gun or fly past in a plane and drop a hideous bomb on people. Children have more common sense that some adults in this respect and i really do mean that

That applies to the soldiers of any country in the world just to get that straight. Sure the army can do good when they want but lets face it, we could train people to do good things anyway without the armed element. far too many hideous evil weapons are being made for profit causing untold damage at the expense of good things in the world, and they call us civilised man

Kill one man and its murder, kill hundreds of thousands and its foreign policy
"Politicians hide themselves away,
They only started the war,
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that all to the poor"

'War Pigs' - Black Sabbath.

I think people that criticise what other people eat and drink; (wine snobs, steak snobs, health food nazis...) come across as horrendously insecure and tedious.
