Where exactly are Phil & Grant Mitchell?
Maybe I've missed it, but I'd like a definitive answer to this. The last I heard, Grant was in South America with his daughter, which is where Peggy went to see him.
And where precisely is Phil whilst on the run from the police? And how is he able to give regular instructions to Marcus (and presumably sign documents) whilst away? Is he in the Tora Bora mountains with Osama Bin Laden? Rudi

I always assumed that Phil had joined Grant in Brazil. How can both of them ever return to the square if they are supposed to be on the run?

Was Grant on the run from the Police or the gang he ripped off?

I heard they were both sat at home. Every so often, the EE producer rings them with an offer to return. They keep saying "higher, higher!". Eventually, when the figure is at some ridiculous amount (paid out of MY licence fee
), they'll return for a year or so in some ridiculous, incredible story line.If the new producer has got any balls (I know she's a woman ), she should say she's not going to bring them back. All this looking to the past is no good, they need new blood.

But Steve McFadden only took a year out though didn't he, which has now been extended.
I really hope he returns as he is my favourite character. |

I really hope Steve doesn't return or if he does at least put him on a diet - so that phil's female conquests will have some kind of valid reason for sleeping with him.
Isn't Peggy still living in Souf America with Grant and helping bring up Courtney whil he recovers from his accident. |

Phil was on the run for armed robbery after Den set him up. No doubt when he wants to return, "Marcus" his lawyer will get him off on some technicality.

Rudi ![]() Phil does indeed seem to be in constant contact with Marcus the bent solicitor, so he is probably holed up in a rather large litter bin in the square somewhere, still wearing that dirty arm sling. How in Gods name Marcus will get Phil off when he was found surrounded by twenty five grand in notes, wearing a balaclava and holding a gun in a warehouse at 3am, God only knows ..... |

I think they always planned to get Phil back - though God knows what implausible plot they'll come up with to make it possible.
From what I gather, they keep asking Grant back and he keeps saying no. But unlike Phil, he's got other acting and TV work, so I suspect there isn't the same temptation. |

Grant Mitchell is in Brazil with Couuutney and Peggy. Grant had an accident last year apprently which was Peggy's route out of Walford when Babs got ill. He now has a business going over there aswell as Peggy mentioned when she returned, thats why she was only in Walford for a day or so, Grant was away and she had to get back and keep an eye on things. Peggy hinted at a possible return to Walford for all three to sort auut Kate and presumably the Watts clan.
God knows where Phil Mitchell is, I wouldn't say he's able to sign documents, Marcus is able to do that on his behalf. They are however in phone contact as is Peggy with Phil. Phil will instruct Marcus to make Minty chief signatory on all the businesses next week, after its revealed Peggy did ring Phil afterall. |

Yes - Phil gave power of attorney to Sam, but is able to revoke it at any time by 'phoning Marcus.

Presumably the longer time goes on, the colder the trail and evidence, but you would assume Grant wasn't living out in Brazil away from his family for the benefit of his health. |

I think he went to Brazil specifically because they did not have an extradition treaty with the UK. The police were tipped off about his involvement in the deal and had him under surveillance, thanks to Sam and Beppe.

There is no way EE could bring both Mitchell brothers back after what has happened and expect the Police not to hve any interest in them/not know they are back in town ....... |

They should have written it so both Phil and Grant were in Prison, Grant would have done about 5 years by now, it would of made his return, if he ever returns, more realistic... same for Phil. If they do come back they both would get nicked lol but its eastenders so anything can happen lol
