I'm not sure either have made much impact in the US, but over here yes WFL stole Criminal's thunder (which it didn't really have, to be pedantic)...but it's hardly fair to compare the new lead single from the UK's obsession (Rihanna) which is currently at #1 to the fourth single from an artist who has made little impact here this era (the song is still in the upper hundreds on iTunes I believe).

Except she isn't really a talented artist because all she does is sing, and not particularly well, and if 'working harder than anyone' is simply laying down vocals on music other people have written every 6 months...then sure.
Plus, let's not get carried away. WFL has meaning, as does Man Down, but What's My Name, Only Girl, Who's That Chick, Cheers, California King Bed and S&M didn't.
