HTC Desire S shutting down
I got a HTC Desire S about 3 mths ago, ever since i got it every 24 hours or there abouts it shuts down and then re starts itself.I then sent the report to HTC that the phone shuts down.
Why does this happen. I am really pleased with this phone and does everything required. Just worried someday it does'nt re start. Any solutions. Thanks |

I have had my HTC Desire S just over 6 weeks now and im 98% happy with it. Only thing I would say is depending on where i am I get a weak signal on it. Even seen no signal on the phone for a few seconds.
Never had the problem you are saying with yours. Darren |

Hello.
I have the exact same phone. I have found the restarts tend to be related to conditions where you have a lot of things open and it doesn't have enough space left to open up more (I have oversimplified this a bit). When it asks you to "Tell HTC" you can click "Preview Error Report" to see why it thinks it rebooted (if known) and always for me it is "not enough space to inflate XML". This is a software issue not hardware. For me I find if I listen to music and then the phone tries to load up the lock screen (with the cover art of what I am listening to) once every 4 days or so it then reboots and makes an ironic loud boot sound and displays "HTC - Quietly Brilliant". HTC have started releasing an update to the Desire S. I have yet to get it but over the coming weeks the update should resolve issues such as these .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Desire_S#Software |
