Does any fans of Home and Away and Neighbours hate that the fact...
that the past year or so of both programs have become so dull and unbearable to watch.
It's a shame really cause I have watched both programs for years but I stuggle to watch both of them nowerdays because of pointless storylines. ![]() What your views? |

I think the current River Boys plot on Home & Away is quite terrible and silly. It's too unrealistic even for me. What kind of gang war do gangsters destroy/damage each other's cars lol? A gang war involves a lot of actual fighting and killing, not silly teenage pranks. Are we seriously suppose to take this River Boys gang seriously as these hardcore surfer bad boys? I know I can't. I grew up in a part of London where rival gang war was normal and I saw a lot of people die as a result, so I'd like to think I know a little about gang wars. Overall, Home & Away is not that bad - it's still watchable in my opinion.
But I have to agree with you about Neighbours - that show is so tedious and unbearable to watch at the moment. The storylines are terrible and boring. The characters aren't much better. Everytime I watch it - I either find myself dozing off or deciding to play a computer game instead. |

They just need to cut pointless storylines like the River Boys stuff, because we all know that is just a obstacle the writers are trying to put in front of Brax and Charlie's relationship. It's a way to delay them becoming a proper, official couple.
As for Neighbours, they need to cut all their storylines and make a whole load of new ones that are more engaging and really entertains us as viewers, because right now I'm not feeling either. An obvious thing to improve the shows would be to have a cast clear-out and bring in new characters, but I'm of the opinion that there are no bad characters, just bad writers and actors. And having a cast clear-out is not guaranteed to bringing the quality of a soap back up. By writing better storylines, hopefully they can improve and develop the characters more. |

aussie television is backward to say the least!

I quite like the River Boys stuff but I think its only really because I find Heath and Brax very attractive although I do agree its unrealistic. Neighbours can be awful at times but the Tash/Michael stuff is good at the moment.

Neighbours is a bit boring at the moment but I still like it as for Home and Away I gave up on it a couple of years ago because it became tedious and far fetched.

I find Neighbours ok at the moment and am enjoying it, but I gave up on H&A a long time ago.

I gave up on Home and Away ages ago. It seems to get more and more ridiculous and there's such a fast turnaround of characters that I find myself unable to care about any of them as they invariably leave after a couple of years.
I've always had a soft spot of Neighbours and I tune in occasionally, but it's hardly unmissable TV. It's boring and dull, the storylines are so stupid that they beggar belief and the cast is really tiny. Neighbours are fortunate to still have characters like Paul, Karl and Susan, but they need to give them some decent storylines. |

Neighbours is really good at the moment.
There's some good storyline coming up over the next few months. At the moment, H&A is too serious. Neighbours is interesting and fun to watch. You can have a laugh with Neighbours were as you can't with H&A. They are no funny scenes in H&A. |

neighbours is just awful i would rather watch paint dry, i haven't tuned in for about 2 years now. I stopped watching home and away about a year ago but the disaster week trailers look good so i am going to give it a go. If neighbours actually made the effort to get new viewers and done something exciting i might give it the time of day

Neighbours has been dull for a few months, ever since the "community garden" storyline, which should have lasted a week not 3 months, it does seem to be suffering from a reduced budget

It will be interesting to see if the Great Storm has a big difference on H&A's figures this week. It did in Australia and has been doing better than usual since, getting in the top five show's almost every night.

I don't watch Home and Away but have caught glimpses of Bianca's storyline.
I like Neighbours at the moment, but the long shots of Michael at the beach and all the little scenes at the coffee shop and cars on the road are annoying. |

I love home and away! It's a bit dull at the moment, but with what is in store it sounds like it's really going to be a bit more interesting.

Home and Away has the right balance of drama, comedy, romance etc at the moment. It has improved since the past few years of high drama. There are always a number of interesting storylines going on, and a good mix of adults and younger cast, also it looks fantastic in HD these days.
Neighbours does seem to be going through a dull patch. I've stuck with it through 24 years of good and not-so-good times, but it's hard to recall when it was last this bland. The head-spinning "establishing" shots don't make it any better. There are a few storylines which show promise - Tash/Michael and the development plot, but other things like Sophie/Noah, Sonya's garden make me want to swich off. The humour doesn't seem to be funny enough, the drama is not gripping enough. A few more adult cast would help too. |

I don't think Neighbours is ever dull. The Tash / Michael storyline is very interesting.

I like watching the River Boys stuff but as a previous poster has said that is only because Brax and Heath especially are nice to look at. Saying that I haven't watched it properly in about 3 weeks but I like the way their storylines don't always involve the children/teens you can switch on and you could have a story involving Irene. I like the Bianca story at the moment.
Neighbours is okay but they need to deal with Summer, I so had the urge to slap the interfering busy body last week when she was sticking her nose into Tash's family life and then to tell Tash how Michael was with her after he found out(good for Michael I so wish he had expelled her). She needs to butt out and realise the consequences of her actions won't affect her in any way so she needs to stop meddling. Mal since he has been back hasn't been on screen enough and hasn't had a storyline so what was the point in him coming back. And having Toadie join a big lawyer firm in the city has meant he isn't in screen as much either. But the adult cast seem very depleted at the moment, no Susan, no Lou, no Libby, Lynn and Rebecca have both left, Steph in prison and no other adults have been brought in to fill their places so we seem to be stuck with Sophie and her crush, Kate and her wonderwoman routine and Kyle and Jade going round in circles. Paul seems to be at a loose end and doesn't seem to interact with anyone except for Andrew and occasionally Karl. They do need to bring in a new family as it is unbelievable that there would not be one complete family on that street. Put them in the Ramsey house and move Kate and Sophie out. It is a house that deserves a family living there. |

I love Neighbours!
![]() The Toadie V Paul stuff is great at the moment, especially as toadie appears to be the bad guy and Paul the good guy! Love Paul!I am loving the Tash storyline and cant wait for the next few weeks to see what Michael is hiding. ![]() Shame Kyle and Jade have gone off the boil but looking forward to
Spoiler
Summer is annoying but her character has a purpose and she plays it well. ![]() The only thing I dislike is Kate and Sophie. Other than them Neighbours is great. ![]() Havent watched Home and Away since the days of Danni Minougue so cant comment there

Yeah its time for Paul to have some romance! Sam would be great, or a new hard hitting business woman to give him a run for his money!
When will Libby come back - soon hopefully, has anyone heard whats going on with Kym will she be back soon. |
