I don't think he's that bad. There's worse dance-pop producers. But he's just everywhere, and all the other artists (Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc.) are all copying his songs aswell, so it makes it seem like he's around even more than he is.

And I hate that artists such as Snoop Dogg, Usher, Kelly Rowland, Timbaland, etc. have been working with him. They're too good for him imo.

Hopefully this whole dance craze will burn itself out by next year, its complete overkill at the moment. But to be fair to David Guetta, he does have the occasional moment of brilliance (i.e. Titanium, When Love Takes Over, Commander, Acapella, Scream). It just happens to be outweighed by all the trash he releases.

Yeah it wouldn't bother me so much if he could at least be arsed varying his lyrics but I'm really bored of hearing tunes about 'naughty' and 'dirty' chicks by him.

David Guetta was so promising and fresh back in 2007-2008, but when he became a major producer, he just lost his touch for me.I don't care how much radio airplay his new music can give him, all I know is that tracks like 'Sexy B*tch' and 'Who's That Chick' are a disgrace for electro pop.And it bothers me that people think electropop=David Guetta.

I honestly think that if he focused on doing something innovative and new, he would actually be able to sell ALBUMS, but he seems to be pretty satisfied with generic pop songs and cheesy cameos in 5 videos a month...

Unfortunately for those with ears, the repetitive shit that spews out of his arse is incredibly easy to make, and thus requires little time away, hence his omnipresence.

Not sure about the others, but I know Snoop Dogg and Kelly Rowland were both approached by him initially, and they just accepted his request, because they're kind, polite people like that. They were doing him a favour, so I doubt they paid him. it's the other way around. He paid Snoop Dogg to use his lyrics and his vocals over an instrumental he had.

They're just being humble, but they ARE above his level. If you look at Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg, Timbaland, etc's discographies, their songs with David Guetta are some of the worst they've ever done.

Guetta did approach Usher and Snoop Dogg, but that doesn't change the fact that they accepted to pay him With all due respect, they wouldn't accept to work with him just to be polite.He gave Snoop Dogg a big European hit, which honestly he hadn't had for a fairly long time before and he did gave Kelly's career a huge boost.I still think that he has been predictable and not far from radio trash for a long time, but I don't think that the artists he worked with are above him.Especially the artists that enlisted him from 2009 onwards are followers and not leaders, so technically they aren't that above him No disrespect to the artists and I can't blame them for striving for a hit, though

I mean, let's look at what happened. Snoop Dogg writes the lyrics to a song called Wet. He raps on it. The Cataracs produce the beat. They have a whole song for Snoop's album.

Meanwhile, David Guetta is producing his instrumentals as normal. He's got what he thinks is a good instrumental, but he can't sing or write lyrics, but he hears Snoop Dogg's song, and thinks, "Hey! Those lyrics Snoop Dogg wrote would go great on my song. I'll ask him if I can use them". So he phones Snoop Dogg up, and Snoop is like "Yeah, sure bro. That beat is dope. You can put my lyrics on it homie".

So I can't see why on Earth Snoop Dogg would've paid David Guetta. It'd be the other way around, if anything.

OK, I do have to clarify that I'm neither a Guetta fan (:yawn nor a Snoop Dogg hater, but 'Wet' had utterly flopped with the Cataracs as producers.Snoop Dogg HAD to remix the track in order to get a hit so he enlisted a high profile producer (), David Guetta.There is no way that David Guetta did this song without getting paid.

Anyway, we agree that he needs to take a break (or better yet retire) and that's all that matters, right?

I love his work with Kelis, but it's similar to the RedOne/Gaga or Martin/Spears collaborations. When they're together, they're great, but if you isolate the producer from the artist, it's (generally) shit. I like very few other songs David Guetta has done with other artists, and I agree that he needs a break.:sleep:

Snoop Dogg has had loads of flops before (and after Sweat aswell), and has been in the mainstream music industry for 20 years now, so I doubt he cares if a song flops. He's never going to be without a record deal, you know, being friends with Dr. Dre and everything.

What I was saying above was what I hear when Snoop Dogg did an interview on Radio 1 in the summer, where he talked about how he ended up working with Katy Perry and David Guetta (amongst other things). He was definitely approached by David Guetta, not the other way around. And it makes absolutely no sense that David Guetta would go up to someone, ask to steal their vocals and lyrics, and then ask them to pay for it!

His time will pass, Timber(b)land, Ryan Tedder etc. were the same at one point, absolutely everywhere and now you barely see them.

David Guetta went way downhill a long time ago thats all i have to say.

TImberland is fantastic imo. Most people only know like 10 of his songs, but he's incredible imo.

It's true though (hopefully). David Guetta will just fade away one day. This electropop craze won't last. It's just a gimmick basically. There'll come a time when pop artists won't be able to sell electropop anymore (and quite frankly, I can't wait!).

David Guetta knows this though. There was an interview of him I was listening to on Radio 1Xtra (yes, they're so desperate to find anything vaguely urban in the charts these days, they're having to resort to David Guetta now), and they asked him why he's so successful, and he basically said what you said. He said it's just the sound that people like at the moment, and that in a few years it'll be somebody else's turn. So at least he knows this himself. I hope RedOne knows aswell. His career is already coming to an end by the looks of things.
