I love Tess - all she has to do is present, she's not going for Mastermind or Miss UK. I think she does it very well and I'd rather have her than a few others I can think of!”

Sorry it's fact, not fiction. or Tosh. Try listening carefully to her a few times as I have before attempting to dismiss someone else's opinion.
Her over-accentuated words are very noticeable, but they disappear and revert to "BBC English" when she's excited or having to catch up by reading the auto-cue quickly.

You'll be telling me next Cilla Black speaks as she does on TV all the time.

Now I don't mind that you like her. I've said she does a good job of keeping the show running to time, but let's not get carried away with admiration for her.

Yes the accent is bizarre in the extreme the way it chops and changes. However my main issue is still her "robotic" and cold nature, some people have said she has good banter with the contestants, I just don't see it, all I see is her not listening to anyone, talking over people and being generally oblivious to anything bar the auto cue - the contrast between her style and Cludia's totally natural style is so stark.

Interesting dress choice tonight

Tbf to her all the judges and Bruce are as annoying, I only watch cos the missus does and I like most of the contestants.

Was she wearing that dress tonight for a bet?
We're back to the garish lipstick, last night's (or the one she used an hour earlier) was better.
I can only guess she has to appear "as directed" by the terms of her contract.

I thought she looked absolutely gorgeous tonight.

Tess looked absolutely crap tonight, her hair looked greasy, the dark lipstick made her mouth look lopsided and the dress actually managed to make her look porky, which is extraordinary for someone so slim! She's a stunning woman, she looked beautiful last night, why do they have to go over the top and make her look ridiculous?

This ^^^ but the one thing that really gets me is that she`s been doing this show since the start and still mispronounces Ola`s name.

Thought Halloween Week had come early for Tess tonight.
Hair and makeup made her face look drawn in.
The dress did her no favours either - was it made from the
left over bits from Alexs' costume and Holly's last week.

I always think of Krusty the Klown when I see her. Not in looks I hasten to add but I imagine when they cut away from her, that fake smile goes and out comes the cigarette.

I find that she is very unfeeling towards the couple who are voted out. At least Bruce used to have a bit of compassion.

Agreed. People are always trying to get rid of female presenters. It is women being tough on other women rather than supporting them.

How many people are saying get rid of Jonathon Ross, Ant and Dec, Gethin Jones, etc. No, it is mostly women who are criticised and given a hard time by often jealous women. A presenter job isn't easy and I think she is doing a good job

I read the OP as part of the thread title, and it didn't surprise me to learn that Tess is a crazy-eyed killer.

Accent-wise, mine varies depending on who I'm talking to and how much I've had to drink but it's not a conscious thing. People have asked where in Ireland/Scotland/Canada/Australia/New Zealand I'm from. I'm actually a Geordie.

jules1000, I have to apologise, I must have put my post on a split second after yours and it looks as if I'm attacking your point of view .. which I wasn't, I just didn't see your post, and your opinion is as valid as mine, didn't mean to knock it. Hope that's OK!

Nothing can beat her mis-pronunciation of Salsa as "Salt-za".

And how embarrassing to think Nancy was being a bull and not a cape in the Paso.

Usually Tess is so thick skinned she never shrinks from asking anything, but in this case she did look

I can't see that is particularly embarrassing, most people are probably still trying to work out what dance Nancy was doing (including Anton).

I love tess... She normally presents strictly looking glossier than than the contestants! Full of poise and absolutely stunning. Her hair looked thin her skin grey and her body way tool thin....

Couldn't they get that female presenter from the Albanian "Dancing With the Stars?"
She had more musicality than Tess, a better dress sense and seemed totally at ease with the situation, I'm quite prepared to accept subtitles if her English isn't so hot.

Loved the dress, but prefer her hair with more wave. She's still beautiful though.

Tess does a great job on SCD and has done since it first started. On a live show anyone is bound to make some slip ups, but overall I think she is excellent .

What tool would that be? A rake? Something for making guide holes? A dental post? Or something for poking peeping tom's eyes out through the keyhole?
