I don't envy Kathleen Hutchinson at the moment if she is scrapping and changing the Christmas storylines! They are currently filming November 18th's episode so its not too late to change things...however the kidney transplant storyline was massively rewritten due to the fact that the actor that plays Dan had probs with immigration and that turned out horribly! I hope the rewrites can be done successfully.

Erm, are you sure this isn't for the Eastenders Christmas Party thing they did last year?
I don't see them filming Christmas storylines 3 months in advance.. |

I'm confused...why does it say it's episode 690?

Yes, but what starting point are they using, if that's number 690? Or is it a typo?

But it MUST be if they have the episode number (however screwed up) underneath. |

I think the number is correct!
According to the Tenth anniversary book of Eastenders, back in 1994, when Eastenders switched from being two nights to three nights a week, they started the episode count all over again for some reason! LOL. So when they switched to four nights a week its entirely possible that they did the same thing....ie Monday August 6 2001's episode is numbered as episode one since that was the week when EE changed to four nights. Three years at four episodes a week would roughly add up to 624 episodes. Then add on an extra - say 56 episodes (since this episode seems to belong to November) and that gets you up to 680. The remaining 10 episodes can be explained when you consider that Eastenders sometimes does more than four episodes a week (eg for christmas)...and bang...you have it! 690 episodes! So the reason why the episode number is 690 is because they started the episode count all over again when EE switched to four nights a week. |

Looking at that it says...
Filming on the set: Tue 21: 08:30 - 18:45 Wed 22: 08:15 - 18:30 Isn't it usually more than this? Maybe the majority of filming has been scrapped until new exc producer arrives? |

Hmmm yeh I'm not really up to scratch with the process of filming schedules and that. I would imagine they have to get cracking though, look at all the extra episodes they have to film for Xmas, aswell as just the normal four nights a week. But yeh I would thought its a bit early for the Xmas episodes to be filmed. IN saying that most of the soaps Xmas storylines are shot in end of September, early October to allow the actors some time off at Xmas.
