Said it from day one and I definitely stand by it. I think he comes across as such a nice guy and seems to be trying really, really hard each week, despite Gary giving him really bad songs. I also think he's got lots of stage presence and has a really good voice. I've said it a number of times...all you have to do to win the X Factor is to be consistent each week. The novelty always wears off the front runners after a few weeks and it's already starting to happen. Frankie isn't liked. Janet is starting to becoming boring and I reckon she won't make it past the final 4. Then there's Misha who I think can't unfortunately win now after what happened tonight. In a couple of weeks if Marcus is still around, you can bet on it that the judges will pull out the "You're the nicest guy in the competition and everyone loves you" card like they did with Joe Mcelderry and Alexandra.

I voted for Marcus tonight, he was definitely my favourite performance, with Kitty and Misha close behind him.

Before this week thought he was quite bland and didnt really pay him much attention. IF he can pull a few more performances like that out of the bag, then Master Ozzy, you may be on to something

yeah then he will flop like all the other nice guy winners.

He has the potential to win but I hope he won't. He'd be ruined as a winner. I'd like him to be runner-up ala JLS, Olly and Rebecca.

He seems a lovely guy and did great tonight but I don't see him as a winner.

As much as I adore Marcus... he's my favourite this year, I don't want him to win, I want him to come 3rd, I'd rather he didn't win, but went far in the show, sadly I think he'll leave tomorrow.

I'd love him to reach the finals [can't see him winning though - and I want Kitty to win tbh anyway] - but the whole 'nice guy' label is a double-edged sword [just like Kitty's 'out-there' persona] that may leave him sailing behind against higher publicised and or better vocalists.

Hopefully it'll aid him well though. Great guy. Great voice. Frickin' sexy to boot.

Funny how these days none of us want our favourites to actually win

In a few years the really bad acts will be sailing through the competition to the final and a win just so we can ensure the ones we REALLY like get a career.

If he stays in I agree with you (although I would rather the makes the final and doesn't win, so no abuse) but he is at serious risk this week because of the deathslot. Plus, the fact that he is under the radar and was put on first shows he isn't particularily liked by the producers (which isn't good news )

I've liked Marcus since day one. He has the whole package - likeable personality, great voice, has stage presence, can dance too!

He's too cheesey and doesn't have the raw talent to back up the 'niceness'.

He's like a solo Same Difference or another Ray Quinn. He'll be out in a couple of weeks and then do another show next year - Clebrity Big Brother or - preferably - Dancing On Ice.

I predict bottom two this week. He'll survive, but will be out next week or the week after.

I've been reading his twitter feed, he seems to have lots of followers who are multiple repeat voters, voting en masse. So who knows.

I dont think he will sadly, nor should he. He seems like a lovely guy, and he's good vocally, but he's nowhere near the top imo. Plus the producers will pick Craig and Frankie over him everytime. Death slot tonight....

Oooh I'd do the same... I wish X Factor got in synch and did Facebook voting as well like Big Brother it's a god-send I'd be voting like crazy for him, but won't by the phone as it's dearer... and I'm a poor broke 16 year old.

For what it's worth, he's got the 3rd most Twitter followers - beaten only by uber-pimped Frankie and Janet.

I'd love to see Marcus in the final - and so far he has survived some appalling song choices - but I don't see him getting that far. Sadly, cos he's likeable and versatile.

Marcus could be an Alexandra. Very consistent and then storms it with a listen moment. surely christina is his guranteed duet for the final with jagger
