Christmas Soaps: Anyone peed off?
What I mean is - we all love our soaps, whatever one....but are you sick of having the same old DEATH/BIRTH/MARRIAGE/MURDER happening on that day?? It's getting a bit stale now isn't it?
Christmas is a time for family, friends to get together and have a good time! Why don't they do it in soaps anymore? Wouldn't it be nice to see people on TV having a happy time at least for ONCE a year! (It doesn't happen often!) Or do people prefer to see misery? |

I never watch EE on christmas day as it's always depressing.
I do watch Corrie, and I used to watch ED. But this year I won't be watching ED as I am an ex-viewer now. |

Corrie will be the only one I watch this year. And I am looking forward to it if the rumoured storylines come true. |

EE? yes, seriously. I am not a lover of it at the best of times. I am not spoiling my christmas day with it lol.

I was bored with it months ago. I literally only watch it because it's on in the background while people in my house watch

![]() I can never eat a full dinner and then a rich christmas pudding or triffle after. I always have the desert for a late tea instead, so I eat it around soap time. The dinner I have around Queen's speech time, which I don't watch either

I'm a fan of both corrie and EE, and to be honest, i'd much rather watch the simmering emotional feelings of peter/carla than watch another EE fire. Just saying.
there';s too many explosions etc nowadays. plus peter/carla/leanne is my favourite soap storyline.

I only usually go for EE and CS on x-mas day, I still remember the shock of the Stax revelation (I didn't read spoilers then, shocker)
I wish HO was on at x-mas day, I like their x-mas eps! |

Well on Xmas Day - I'm usually having a nice time. So EastEnders is DEFINITLEY OFF!! Corrie and Emmerdale might get a look-in though.
(Doctor Who will be my must-see anyway!) |

I dont think she will die in the fire. I think she will get out and die in a hospital bed. Simular to Jamie Mitchell

I watch all the soaps on Christmas Day and will be doing exactly the same this year! there is nothing like putting on the fire and watching the soaps with the rest of the family. I don't let the storylines effect me in anyway, I watch them to be taught lessons and also for what they are intended for: entertainment!!!

Christmas is actually the one day of the year I tend to watch all soaps because the family are tuned in. ![]() I always follow soaps off and on throughout the year and have thought EE to be the best and the one I pay attention to but now it is all about Corrie for me. At least it makes me laugh sometimes. Quote:

This is a major difference in culture between the UK and Australia.
In Australia few people would dream of settling down together to watch television on Christmas day. Certainly not to watch a soap. As it is a non ratings period here most schedules are filled with cancelled flop series, old movies, and repeats. |

Xmas? - the way things have gone lately with the big three it is debateable if I will still be watching on November 25th. They are all going through a very silly boring patch - yet another "affair" about to kick off on ED, on CS the continuation of the Fizz Stape pantomime, and.... poor old EE, doddering along with Shane Ritchie's version of Del Boy, tarty Lola grumpy Phil Mitchell, all over the place Ian's emotions and of course, where would EE be without a death on December 25th. All the boring old faces and unbearable new ones cramped into a space no bigger than Jonathan Ross's talent.
All three soaps are getting past it, but EE should certainly be first off to the knackers yard

No, love a bit of drama on Christmas! Corrie and Emmerdale are usually missable but EE is a must watch.
