She's definately becoming a bit of reality legend with her non-vocal performances, great entertainment

Singing wise, she's pretty good, but not really the X factor. To be honest, I think they are just putting her through because of her non-vocal entertainment value to create interest in the show. Cruel on her if true.
I would be surprised if she gets dumped out before the public get to decide, as they might not want to risk her winning.

She is an OK singer but I don't particularly like her style.

Yes she is. I ahve to say she improved dramatically personalitywise when she calmed down, and she has an impressive voice. However it's not my taste vocally, too Cleo Laine/Shirley Bassey for me.

Yes Dog she's through!!!
I've just done a complete 360 on the girl, she REALLY is a great singer, her second last performance tonight was REAL X Factor.
Simon has finally got someone who could break his credibility duck.
Good luck Rowetta PIV is now in your corner (this is not necessarily a good thing. )

She's bound to get through to the final 3. After all they all go round to Simon's house next week and 2 of the 5 get told they're not through. Would you dare tell her she's not through when she knows your address

I only heard her singing for a bit as i was not in the room when it started but what i did hear she did seem very good to me.
I was beginning to think is there something quite wrong with this lady when Simon Cowell kept on going about her mental ability to be able to stick the top 10 etc.

I had never heard of her before actually and still don't know who she is. Clearly going on what has been written in this thread so far she has been in the music industry before and been able to hack it.

I haven't been following the show so have no clue how she has acted in previous shows.

I adore the woman.

I love her emotionality. I like the fact that after being told by Simon to stop acting the clown she calmed down completely (phew) cos she has an amazing voice - I find myself not only wanting to see more of her, but also to hearing her sing.

I can imagine her doing big numbers - she is like a modern Shirley Bassey and I feel there is a market for that.

She is truly memorable.

Good one. She'd terrify me. I'm not sure the OTT behaviour is the real her but I wouldn't want to take a chance.

There looks to be something very vulnerable about her.
She may have sung with some big names,..but she looks incredibly insecure.
Almost as if she's suffering with depression or something.
There's something about her that looks like she's had a hard time in some way.
Even though she has a lot of ability, she looks very shaky indeed, and if she gets rejected it'd affect her badly.

Having said that, those traits are similar with some of the greatest American female soul singers.

She looks desperate as hell and as though she could fall apart and go into a nervous breakdown.
But I do like her, think she's a very good singer, and I'd like her to do well.

Surely Rowetta has had her chances in the past. She has had the contacts but no-one has signed her up as a solo singer. If she really had what it takes I think she would already have a record contract.

I read an interview with her when 24 Hour Party People came out.
She was a battered wife with 2 young children.
Toured the world as a backing singer, then took time out to bring up her children on her own.
Has never tried to make it on here own until now.
She's a survivor with a great talent.
Hope she goes all the way.
You could see how much she wanted it, in her eyes.
She has everyone talking about her and I saw her live with Happy Mondays, she's amazing.

Last night, when she sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and the last song, I got goosebumps.

She's crazy in a Robbie Williams kind of way.
It's called the X Factor.

I am not a fan of Rowetta at all. She can sing, but I don't like her voice much. Maybe that will change...we shall see. Her personality leaves me with the jitters (I must be an empath!). All that crying and 'pleeeeeze' annoys me. Poor woman and all that, yes....she wants it so much, yes...but....something strange about her...in that Chris (from PI2) kind of way. Very odd.

I wonder if Rowetta can cope with the pressures of it all?

Rowetta is someone you would either love or hate, a bit like Robbie Williams who is also very emotional.
People will talk about them and remember them.
That's the X factor.
Personally I love her.

She can cope with the pressures, she worked with Happy Mondays for years, go figure!
She deserves a medal for that alone.
It's more likely that the young ones will be the ones who struggle to cope, or the bands like G4, where the lead singer gets all the attention.

ROWETTA TO WIN !!!!!!

Sure Rowetta has a brilliant voice and a very interesting personality, but I feel her voice will not appeal to everyone. She sounds like a jazz singer and I can see her being marketed as that. I will be really surprised if she wins.

Have to agree with this. I'm sorry about her background, but I must need my ears syringed or something. I loathe her OTT personality and I think her singing is underwhelming. Perhaps she'll pull out all the stops when the show goes live, but for the life of me, I cant see what's so special about her.

Dont like her voice, dont like her personality.......

........So far. I have been known to change my mind as these contests go on.

I must have a really varied musical taste as I love G4, Rowetta and Andy and all three are totally different to each other. If the newspapers are right then its a pity about Andy but I will still have G4 and Rowetta to support.

I agree with all of this, she certainly has a lot of inner demons.
She has a very good voice imo , it has that soulfull feel that sometimes seems to come from inner torment.

Simon Cowell was on tv this afternoon talking to Paul O'Grady. PoG was saying how much he liked Rowetta. Simon said that he may be disappointed after Saturdays show. Simon also alluded to something happening. I think "kicking off " was his turn of phrase.
Wonder if Rowetta threw a wobbly.

I was thinking about this the other day and i do think that editing and Simon Cowell may have been trying to potray Rowetta as not in the brightest light possible.
I may be of in that but that my was gut feeling as well. Although Rowetta may herself have played up to cameras a bit i do think that the whole X factor team were trying to make her not seem so bright.
I may be totally of with that but that is what i was feeling anyway.
Interested to see where this thing goes.
