If you were waiting for a thread on Kelly 'being chunky' to appear then you must have been thinking it as well. Otherwise why would it have entered your head?

Except though she did briefly in some places, she doesn't any more.

I just had to google her to find out who she was. I'd never heard of her before, and neither had my two teenage boys.

Kelly looked beautiful tonight. It's not right judging someone on there size. An american singer/disney star called Demi Lovato ended up in rehab at just 18 because she felt ridiculed over her weight/appearance, so she decided to starve herself.

I have way more respect for an artist who uses her voice to sell records, rather than an artist who uses her body to.

Can't slate Kelly she's got a real figure and doesn't have to do a Rhianna or Katy Perry, prance around naked to hide crap vocals. Kelly's great and she's seems like a great person to interview, because she comes across as honest and that's so cute.

You just beat me to it! I am so sick of seeing female acts with mediocre voices cover it up by prancing around in their underwear. I'd be more shocked these days in Rhianna actually wore some clothes in her videos! Kelly has an amazing voice and doesn't need to project a sexualised image to sell records. That being said, I don't think her stylist did her any favours tonight, especially with the lenght of the dress.

She's hefty and she's aged - obviously - since she won AI. She looked like a contestant from the Overs at audition stage, not a star from the USA. She should dispense with her stylist, the dress was unflattering as was her hair.

When my friend was watching Katy Perry on X factor, she was actually shocked because Katy was dressed really smart....... in clothes. As for Rhianna....No, No and No. Kelly is amazing , the way people talk about her on here, you'd think she was thirty stone.

She's overweight for her height. End of.

She looked thinner on the "All I Ever Wanted" cover but her weight does seem to yo-yo a bit.

No not at all don't assume what I'm thinking it's actually through experience of posting on forums that there's always people that makes a comment about someone's weight just because it's not what they think is 'normal' look at Christina last year?! That's why I was expecting it, I think Kelly clarkson looks absolutely fine.

Like everyone else has been saying, Kelly has the pipes so she doesnt need to run around naked in a farmers field in Ireland to sell records [a la Rihanna]. She said it herself on the Xtra Factor, people don't go to her shows to see her put on a huge show with dance routines etc, they go to hear her voice.

I was quite impressed with Katy Perry last week, it makes a change to see her looking really nice and just singing, no gimmicks. Her voice wasnt great but she did a good job.

I get tired of seeing women musicians trying to be all controversial in skimpy outfits to cover up for the mediocre voices.... i'd be more shocked at rihanna if she actually wore clothes in one of her videos.

Yes,she is a bit "chunky",but far from getting to a point where it would cause her any real problems.She is also successful,talented,and many think she is beautiful.

I agree which was a shame as Kelly doesn't scrub up badly. I'm not sure about blaming a stylist though. Kelly is renowned for being lippy and strikes me as someone who won't be told. Likewise with the weight issue. She has been slimmer at times but I think she's given up on trying.

Of course, she will have aged. It's over 9 years since she won AI but she's still only 29 so it's ridiculous for her or anyone to put her weight issues or anything else down to her age. She's always had those issues, she has simply let herself go.

Her performance last night was very lacklustre and after the big build up, it was disappointing that she wasn't even interviewed after her performance.
