I've never bought in the past and to be honest I always just Torrent it. Never used Itunes Store in my life till Sophie's "Wherever You Will Go" - absolutely fell in love, so much so that because I couldn't get it by other means I actually bought a song from Itunes ^.^

If they only sell the live studio recordings, then why do we always seem to see the contestants in some sort of recording studio in their vts?

Good question. I presume it is so they can listen to it back and hear themselves singing.
