i see posts from people saying its all fake and its like a script....well they must be bloody good actors for loads of people to think its real. i dont think any of them have taken acting classes before

Some of it is, I meen seriously wagner, jedword, whatever her name was who pulled out
Louis isn't that stupid, he's a millionaire music manger and he wouldn't put them through in the real world.
But acts like that generate a lot of publicity and MONEY for the show

When you can call who is going to be in the bottom 2, and who is going to go, before they have even performed on the Saturday you know you are watching a soap.

Of course the show isn't rigged. However in DS land "It's rigged" or "It's a fix" can usually be translated as "My favourite was eliminated tonight, whilst my least favourite has remained in the competition".

What the judges are going to say is decided before the acts even perform, they ad lib but it's all there on the pads infront of them.

The comments colour the opinion of the performances and affect the bottom 2, and then the sing-off is there to cancel out the public vote ensuring the key characters don't go.

The vast majority of the public isn't very bright. I've posted many times on here that people are gullible for falling for all this rubbish and people ignore my posts. People on here get so wound up about the fights on the show which is falling into what the producers want.

The illusion of being in control, and some people get emotionally invested in the fate of the contestants.

Someone else pointed out professional wrestling. It's the same thing, that is a soap in the guise of a sport. X-Factor is just a soap in the guise of a talent contest.

You don't dump the key characters in a soap with no one else to replace them, and the best way of ensuring drama is to manufacture it.

Ratings and advertising money depend on it.

Staged is probably a better word to use than scripted.
