Kitty votes for herself LOL

This is nearly a couple weeks old but I just saw it and thought 'how pathetic'..

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...r-herself.html

Anything to get in the papers though, eh?

Also, a question.. How is it that contestants are allowed to vote for themselves? I mean, obviously their families, friends and fans will but shouldn't there be some kind of restriction of being able to vote for yourself? Seems a bit off to me

(sorry if this has already been brought up in another post, I can't search them all!)

She was asked this on Xtra Factor lastnight and said it wasn't true.

I'd vote for myself if I were on TXF. So would most people, surely? I imagine the other contestants do it all the time, too.

Do you think it should be allowed? Because in my eyes, it kind of puts out a message that if you're rich and can afford to waste money, you can buy yourself a winning spot on the X Factor? Puts a bit of a financial status divide in there between the contestants too, like they don't have enough pressure as it is.

Also, if you have to vote for yourself to get through each week, isn't this an indication that the public doesn't like you enough to keep you in so when you win because you bought the winning spot, you'll also have to buy your own records to stay in the charts and not get fired by your record company? lol

I don't see how they'd actually prevent it, other than by confiscating the contestants' mobiles and locking them in the house? (and even if they did that, they could still give their friends/family money to use in voting for them.) Besides, the chances of votes from contestants actually affecting the result are INCREDIBLY slim - yes, there have been cases of very small gaps between contestants, but generally you'd have to cast well over a thousand votes (which is the maximum allowed from any one person anyway) before making a real impact.

I think it's a more one/two votes for yourself as a nervous "...shit, this might help!" reaction to your performance. If you had the kind of money to vote 10k+ times each week for yourself, you'd have been one of these artists who starts their own record label and self-published. Noel Gallagher's new stuff is self-published after all.

The Judges have joked about voting for their own act when they have only one left in the comp. Would presume it is common practice, also Kitty said she had no credit this week so did not vote.

I don't think they should be allowed to vote for themselves and I don't think anyone should be allowed to vote more than once for one act.

if she is, it clearly didn't work this week. she did deny it on the xtra factor and she seemed quite embarrassed at the prospect to be honest. i remember watching a video of her urging her youtube fans to vote for a different competition. so she is clearly not to proud to beg for votes.

she should bounce back next week and i have a feeling the tables are turning for her. she has talent and vision. the girl deserves a break.

She is desperate to be liked and is desperate to stay there. She possibly thinks that people will not vote for her. She's a bit insecure. I find it sad but not in a bad way.

NB....She was great this weekend.

Katy Perry votes for herself to win awards so why can't Kitty?

if she really did it, it is purely because the embarrassing people of britain dont know what is talent, voice and appearance and vote cockroachza through instead of her. so her being in the bottom 2 proved that she was right through the first liveshow.

Well no one else seems to be voting for her, wrongly of them.

She is the best act on this years show by far IMO.
