Iphone 4S sim card

Might be getting the phone and want to transfer the sim from my Nokia E72 into the IPhone.

Can you please tell me is it one of those stupid little things that Apple uses in the IPad or is it a 'full blown' sized sim card?

It's a microSIM I'm afraid. You can either cut a normal SIM down to size using one the numerous cutters available on EBay etc for a couple of quid, or get a microSIM from your network (most of the official retail shops will just hand you one if you ask) and get your number transferred on it.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm on O2 but my contact is with Carphone Warehouse and whenever I have had queries with my O2 service, O2 always say I have to go to CW. Do you think this would be the same?

Just call O2 and ask them to send you a microSIM. You should get it in a day or two. Then you can transfer your number over (usually takes up to 24hrs). On the O2 website there's a page about moving to a microSIM. You just enter your number and the SSD number on the back of the SIM and that's it.

One thing you have to remember though is that when your old sim stops working and the new one comes on, you have to do a hard reset on the phone. Hold the home and sleep buttons for about 5secs until it goes off. Then hold the sleep button for 5s to reboot it. Then you'll pick up the new card on the network.

My 4S didn't need resetting when the micro SIM became active. It registered the network a few seconds after my old handset with the old SIM card in it dropped off the network.

I'm getting my husband's iPhone 4 as he's getting the iPhone 4S.

Because I have a Blackberry, I will need a microSim for the iPhone and will have to pay £15 for it.

Not sure why they are charging you for it. Unless they've changed the policy, I've just walked into an O2 shop in the past and they gave a MicroSIM free. Assuming you and your husband are on the same network it shouldn't be a problem.

However you can cut a SIM down easily enough using one of these. Assuming the Blackberry and the iPhone are on the same network it should work no problem.

However there may be a difference in your tariff as you will no longer need BIS (Blackberry mail and BBM etc) and need one for general data.
