How eastenders lost the plot
In today Observer, there is a very interest report on how eastenders lost the plot, which I you lot may want to read. Here it is -
One programme above all others has come to symbolise the British public's evolving relationship with the BBC. This end bit is very good as it talk about the christmas rating, in which EE normal get about 16m viewers. But what this been a very low year for EE will it get more than 12 million as in the last six months EE has not got more than 12 million. Where as corrie has. I don't think Hutchison can sort out EE by christmas, it will take much long. Last edited by James Welsh : 26-09-2004 at 19:45. Reason: Copyrighted text removed. In contrast, people don't like the Ferreiras in the same way. That is not racist resistance from fans - the family are just simply boring, charisma-free characters with no decent storlyines for any of them since the show began. That's the real reason no one likes them.

lesilie isnt hard working, of course he deserves to leave, hes bad news and has bought nothing to the show. i do believe that wendy richards should stay at EE though. i dont get why so many poeple think thta leslie deserves to keep his job, hes a waste of space. every body on her so called hit list deserved to go appart from wnedy richards.

You know Eastenders has lost the plot when they use the race card (oh please - so we are all racist now - even coloured people whom also watch the show) and other excuses like pregnacy and personal problems.
The beebs bosses should be on their case every day for the next year making sure that people are up to the job - in fact they should employ someone specifically for a job which involves whipping the cast and crew every day so they do the jobs that they have been allocated properly and the cast should also be banned from going out and getting p*ssed every night - if it's that much of a problem. Shambollic or what  |

Kathleen will pull EE round because she is the one tipped to take over from Mal Young as BBC Head Of Drama when he steps down so she will do everything she can to pull it back up.
That racist but is a pile of shite The ferreira's are crap because none of them can act. |

It will take time for Asian families to be accepted as lead characters in the way that black characters already are, for some reason, but that is no reason not to use them in EastEnders .'

Dev and Sunita are popular with viewers, as were Sanjay and Gita. The idea that the Ferrerias haven't taken off because their Asian is stupid.

The Ferriera family are absolutely dire actors, with the possible exception of Ash. They have had ludicrously quickly cobbled up storylines which were badly written and in turn, badly acted. Its nothing to do with racism - they simply cant do their jobs properly! Sunita, Maya, Fiona the hairdresser on Corrie, the Truemans - in particular Paul, on EE , are excellent actors who make their characters believeable and have had some decent storylines to get their teeth into and therefore show us what they are made of. LB is talking out of her ar$e in order to deflect the blame onto the viewers ....... |

I really liked Sanjay and Gita and the story where he was getting it on with her sister was really good. All of the Alahan / Dessai family in Corrie were well received because as has been pointed out they were well written interesting characters with good stories people gave a damn about not mad Elvis loving loosers.
