Steve Brookstein was never hated when he was on the show; quite the opposite in fact. It was his likeability and cheesey grin rather than talent that got him the win. As a result, he's seen as the show's embarrassment because his lack of talent meant lack of sales.
One thing all of the past winners have in common is likeability. Take note Frankie, Kitty & Misha! |

I don't remember Daniel Evans being hated as such. He wasn't highly regarded as a performer, but never hated. I remember Chris Moyles playing the recording of him singing "I Wanna Know What Love Is" and asking if he was sat on a washing machine
 . As it happens the last time I voted was for Daniel - a protest vote because Laura White got the boot the previous week. Made me realise what a pointless exercise voting was.

What about that group Louis had previously managed (I think they where sisters) that he kept in once at the sing off at the expense of a far more talented contestant.

Haha the three contestants I was mulling over to choose are in the top three anyway.
Went with Cher she makes me sick and she is an embarrassment to british music. |

I voted the Waisell. She wasn't a nasty person or anything but she was annoying and the fact that the judges kept keeping her in after she was in the bottom 2 time and time again made me hate her.

The cynical backstage manipulations to get her on the show, then keep her on despite the public's clear dislike put me off watching last year. I'm still a bit p*ssed off about it now! Honourable mention goes to Danyl too. What a plonker. |
