Queen of Locomotion Miss Janet Devlin dominates the stage!

Was anyone else shocked? I assumed she'd spend the whole series covalently bonded to the stage, so I was quite astonished to see her struttin' about, flickin' that hurr, givin' it dem hands, swaggin' out all confident, like. She seemed really comfortable and her faultless vocals didn't even quiver.

What's next? Uptempo smash? Fully-choreographed Thriller routine? What a shame that Janet's only perceivable weakness... doesn't actually exist. A shame for the rest of the contestants, that is.

I was shocked that she moved and even more shocked by the judges' comments...hopefully she's moving to the bottom two this week...we've already had one Diana Vickers...and Janet doesn't even have the claw...

Nah, I think she'll skim through given Frankie's likely return to the bottom two—where he found himself the first chance the public got to put him there. Now that the true rocker of the competition has emerged it's time for the false prophet to retire.

I reckon she should do more than that, IMO. The one tricky porny stigma attached to her isnt completely gone.....

Janet was the best of the night and I've got high hopes that she will continue to get better throughout the competition.

I said this a couple of weeks ago - when all is said and done, if she is as good at writing songs as she is at delivering them she has the potential to be the UK version of Taylor Swift.

Her hair dominated the stage.

Her performance was average IMO. Sadly she is above average of a poor bunch this year. The last 2 acts - jonny and Misha - stole the show this week.

Is the OP serious?

Janet didnt own the stage !!! she moved from one spot - which admittedly is a big improvement on her "performance" aspect, but ocme on - walking a few steops does not a performance make.

IMO, she had the perfect oportunity, being rock week, to show another side to her singing, and to show she can perform. She totally failed to do either - again.

If anything she actually showed how fake her style is - as there were only 3 little yodels, and 2 odd pronounciations. Yes - the things that were said to be because of her accent, and natural celtic style were all but invisible saturday. Se was neither one thing or another.

she can't win - she tends to be too ballad orientated- not enough variety. She would be out of her depth on disco week

I'll be watching for Janet, Misha and Johnny. Maybe Sophie and Kitty. Not much entertained by the rest.

To paraphrase someone (Chipmunk?) who was on the Xtra Factor on Saturday - Taylor Swift doesn't move around very much on stage and she's huge. Janet should move around as much as necessary to suit the song and if it helps her to connect with the lyrics. That is exactly what she did, so yes,she owned the stage.

It really did didn't. It was so Crystal Tips and Mary from Mary, Mungo and Midge but her talent is undeniable well to me anyway. I thought she was great on Saturday but it wasn't her best I have seen but it was good to see her move about rather than being anchored to the spot.
