That link is broken, page not found error.
The likes of the FOX stuff, that should cover all the FOX shows. As we know Prision Break, 24 is already on there. I hope therefore that the likes of Fringe is added as soon as possible given the licenses deal (which is the hard bit) is done. http://paidcontent.org/article/419-i...allenge-bskyb/ Quote:
Does that mean then that netflix won't get some hollywood studio's onboard as lovefilm already have exclusivity??
Sorry for the lame question just trying to understand how it all works. Quote:
Thats a good question...been wondering the same myself actually.
I assume that's the case because the article which I've linked to (properly I hope this time ) says Lovefilm has an exclusive deal with Sony Pictures for the 2nd pay window - but Sony also has a deal with Netflix. In that case, Lovefilm will be able to show Sony's content first, that content will appear later on Netflix. |

unblock-us is as legitimate as it can be because you are accessing content across different countries and between myself and a friend of mine whom I introduced it to we have had zero issues with it and with the current exchange rate it adds around £3 to the total price per month bringing it up to £8.99 which is a steal considering the content available.
It's as simple as changing the DNS entry to the one provided depending on the console or box you wish to use and a power off and power back on is all that is needed for it to work. I have a UK netflix account which is billed every month and by adding in the appropriate dns into my Apple TV gives me access to all the USA content with no problems whatsoever. The only downside is they only allow you to have one device using the dns server at any one time to stop people from handing out there account details and dns entries I guess. Thanks for the info ![]() I plan to use on my PC only for now |

Warner Brothers is also very anti-netflix, although they're more anti-consumer than anything.

Sorry, this should work:
http://paidcontent.org/article/419-i...allenge-bskyb/ Yep, Lovefilm's deal with WB is exclusive for (I think) the 2nd Pay window....outside that window, they lose exclusive rights. Might stick with unblock-us for a while longer just concerned they could stop this 'service' at any point if they wanted. |

I don't think they will. They actually made a point of saying that accounts are global. So if you actually come to the US you'll see the US streaming titles. Likewise if I go to the UK I'll see the UK streaming titles. The lack of region-locked accounts is a touted feature.
Let's hope it stays like that! Now all they've got to do is update the app so it'll stream to Apple TV or update my brain so I can work out how to get my Apple TV DNS settings changed. |

I did think they'd shut it down, but now I think you're correct, when I used a VPN to access the service via my iPad last night, it actually comes up with a window that says something along the lines of you're logging on from a different location and to be aware that not all the content you're used to will be avaliable.

Cool so that means I can continue using my bank account and what not and get access to the US content without having to resort to virtual credit cards, US addresses etc.

So far I'm quite impressed with Netflix
. Until Sony get their bums into gear and get it on Bravia Internet video, I'm using on the Wii.Kids have just watched the first episode of Robin Hood and now I'm watching the first episode of Faulty Towers. Definitely gonna save me some money with this, well at least this month anyway as its free. I was going to buy the Torchwood series on DVD for my girls now they're old enough as they want it, but now I don't have to as all the episodes from seasons 1-3 which theyve not seen are on here .

Here's a little something for you guys:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ojcnooolhbdlgo It's a chrome extension that enables the Instant Queue for the countries that don't have it. I don't know if adding stuff to your instant queue will make an instant queue category show up on your devices (xbox etc) though.. |

Has anyone tried this yet? Is there a similar plugin for Firefox or maybe an iOS app that does the same? Don't really want to install Chrome if I can avoid it.
Not sure there are similar plugins for firefox however trying out a few iOS apps to see if they work just as well. |

Not too sure I like the parental controls unless someone knows differently.
You can set the age limit of viewable content ok, but that's all you can watch up to that limit and are prompted with a message telling you you cannot watch due to age restriction for anything above. What I would of expected was to be given an option to input a password to view anything outside of the limit, but that doesn't seem to be the case. |

During 'Body of Proof' on Channel 5 I've seen adverts for both Lovefilm and Netflix.
VOD war is on! I'm Camp Netflix all the way, it's superb.

Sorry for the lame question just trying to understand how it all works. But we should be used to that in this country with Sky buying up 99% of stuff. |

Got an old WDTV Live player? Then you're out of luck, only the new (2011) model has support for the new firmware, which supports both Netflix AND iPlayer.

Won't try the trial until this is on my Sony S480 bluray player. Any guesses when that may happen?

Well, it is free month and they're just starting so licencing and all needs to be got in this country now. But they will be up against more than just Lovefilm. There's Sky with Sky Anytime+, Virginmedia's VOD service.
Looking at the US catalogue, 14,000 titles and over, lots of TV stuff. Lots of WWE content etc as well, have to see if the catalogue or if Netflix really wants to get top of the UK for content over here. Movies are fine but also getting TV show rights will be good as well, something to make maybe Sky drop their use Sky ISP for their Anytime+ service which if Netflix does gain ground and become a threat, sky may have to. Wish I could afford vpn service as yes, the content over there is huge. -.- |
